Jan Hagen Andersen has over 25 years of experience in the maritime industry with a focus on propulsion systems and machinery. He has an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington. He joined DNV GL in 2005 and is currently Business Development Director for DNV GL – Maritime, Region Americas, based in Houston.

DNV GL – Maritime has released the third edition of its Maritime Forecast to 2050. The forecast examines the future of the shipping industry in a rapidly changing global energy landscape. This year’s report focuses on the challenge of reducing the carbon intensity of the global fleet to meet the ambitious tar-gets set by the IMO’s greenhouse gas reduction (GHG) strategy.

Erik Carlberg holds an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. He has worked at DNV GL for 13 years with different types of mooring systems and mooring arrangements, including FSRU mooring and qualification of new technology.

This presentation will provide an overview of DNV GL’s recently issued Offshore Technical Guidance, DNV GL-OTG-18 – Guidance for long-term nearshore mooring systems, which addresses the challenges and risks specific to the long-term mooring of floating installations in shallow water and nearshore applications.

Monika Johannessen holds an M.Sc. in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.During her 12-year tenure with the company, her responsibilities have related primarily to LNG ships, Floating Regasification and Storage Vessels and Floating LNG Production Units. Currently, Monika Johannessen is Project Manager for the Golar FLNG conversion project.

Although it remains a niche segment, the floating LNG (FLNG) market has gained significant attention around the globe in recent years. This expansion was driven by the ability to bring FLNG plants online at competitive rates compared to onshore liquefaction facilities. Based on DNV GL’s extensive experience with the FLNG sector, this session will consider the scope of classification as it relates to the market and the key parameters to consider during conversion and throughout the lifetime of FLNG units.
