CLASSIFICATION OF FLNG UNITS

Monika JohannessenSenior Engineer Offshore Safety & Systems

Although it remains a niche segment, the floating LNG (FLNG) market has gained significant attention around the globe in recent years. This expansion was driven by the ability to bring FLNG plants online at competitive rates compared to onshore liquefaction facilities. Based on DNV GL’s extensive experience with the FLNG sector, this session will consider the scope of classification as it relates to the market and the key parameters to consider during conversion and throughout the lifetime of FLNG units.
