Involved in Centre’s academic duties and Co-ordination of various committees in

Worked as Senior Research Fellow in Bharathidasan University from 27th April
1997 to 30th Nov. 1999.
Nature of Work: Site suitability check for disposing industrial and domestic
waste using tracer technique after the identification of suitable sites, validation
of land management models to improve the efficiency of natural recharge,
identification of surface and groundwater targets, development of aquifer
function models, identification of soil erosion areas, silted reservoirs and their
controlling parameters and suggestion of remedial measures and, identification
of sites suitable for artificial recharge and suggestion of site specific mechanisms
for artificial recharge - all through Remote Sensing, Field Surveys and existing
secondary data and using ArcInfo GIS PC version.
Worked as Junior Research Fellow in Bharathidasan University from 27th April
1995 to 26th April 1997.
Nature of Work: Prepared various thematic maps on 1:50,000 scale for the
entire Madurai, Dindigul and Theni districts of Tami Nadu such as, lineament /
fracture pattern, structure, geomorphology, landuse/land cover by interpreting
IRS 1B LISS-II imageries and then lithology, subsurface geology, slope, drainage
systems, hydrogeology, hydrogeochemistry and other terrain maps using
topographical and secondary data and preparation of various action plan maps
showing suitable sites for waste disposals-using GRAM GIS package, land
management models to improve the efficiency of natural recharge-using
TERRASTAT statistical package, seismic susceptibility of Kodaikkanal hills and
possible locales of geothermal springs-using Remote Sensing techniques.
Worked as Technical Assistant in Bharathidasan University from 3rd Oct. 1994
till 26th April 1995.
Nature of Work: Assisted in conducting geophysical resistivity surveys in Upper
Vaigai catchment area, preparing thematic maps using various data sources such
as Aerial, & Satellite Remote Sensing, Field Survey and secondary data,
identifying soil erosion areas and its inducing parameters using STATGRAF
statistical package, preparing models and action plan maps suggesting remedial
measures so as to retain the soil in the catchment itself.
