When the talus and calcaneus are subluxed, often a large radiolucentjoint space is visualized approx. 5 mm.
Superior and inferior calcaneusand cuboid articular surfacesshould be congruent.
Joint spaces throughout thefoot should be 2mm throughoutand symmetrical across the joint
This talar prominence beak fits into a corresponding recess on the calcaneus. It may lie posterior to it when talus is subluxated.
