DRYSEPARATIONMETHODFORKAOLINSOURCESKaolinGrouphassuccessfullyinventedandpatentedadry-separationmethodforthebeneficiationofrawkaolinsources,withtheaimofincreasingtheinherentkaolinitecontent,byremovingquartzandotherimpurities.Thismethodisespeciallyuseful,wheretherawkaolinorehasgotcomponentsofveryfinequartzand/orotherclays,whichcannotbeseparatedthroughtraditionalcycloningorscreening.Themethodworksonkaolinoredirectlyasaminingproductanddoesnotrequireanyothertreatmentbefore.Typicallykaolinoreisreceivedinlumpformfromtheminewithitscontainednaturalmoisturelevel.Dependingonthemineralogicalcompositionofthekaolin,quartzandotherimpuritiescanberemovedtothepointwherethefinishedkaolinitelevelisexceeding60%.Kaolinitelevelsofupto75%havebeenachievedusingthismethod.Typicaldryseparationdata:Mineralogicalcompositionofrawkaolinsource: AFTERDRYSEPARATION:Presentation: lumpsexmine powderKaolinite: 30-40% 60-75%Quartz: 25-35% 2-15%Muscovite/Illite/Microclineetc: 25-35% 10-25%Naturalmoisturecontent: 5-15% <0.5%Thedryseparationmethodwillyieldkaolininafinepowderformwithameanparticlesizeofbetween4-15µm.Thedryseparationsetuptypicallywillbeinstalledinmodularplantscapableofyieldingbetween1–5tonsperhourofbeneficiatedkaolin.Largercapacityplantscanbedevelopedtocustomerspecificrequirements.Therequiredfootprintoftheplantsisbetween50-100m²andaccesstopost-productionheat(i.e.fromacalcinationfacility)isbeneficial.Pleasecontactusforyourenquiryandwewillassistyouwithadetailedconsultationforyourrequirements.
