The meeting was held at the Rushford airport after the scheduled Snowshoe walk.

The minutes of the January meeting were approved as listed in the EAA newsletter.

ford airport AND the city of Rushford. Preliminary plans will be drawn up and discussed at
following meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
Submitted by Diane Kohner, Secretary
Winona MN. Weather Almanac.
The March average high temp 42O. The aver-age low temp. is 21O. And the average precip
is 1.8” in March.
The correct answer to the Question Of The Month is “A”
above Peterson MN. (and then back to the airport).
Leaving at about 3:00 PM these hikers enjoyed the 28 de-
gree winter afternoon while trekking south. Taking in the
sights and sounds of Minnesota at it’s finest. Even the wild-
life was there to greet us! White-tail deer, grouse, and a
Bald Eagle were among some of the “critters” seen.
And finally, back at the lodge around 6:30 PM (55Y’s air-
port lounge!) everyone enjoyed the BBQ’s and hot Apple
Cider that was awaiting them! At the lodge, one of the
“cutest” sights to see were the dogs though. After all of that
fresh air, each one of them had staked out a little spot and
went to sleep. “Dog-tired! Actually I think that a few of us
would liked to have joined them!
Will EAA 919 host this event again next year? You bet. So
come on out and join us!
I do wish to thank everyone that
brought some goodies to eat, and to
Mike Thern who was able to line up
snowshoes for those who didn’t have
any.
Thanks again everyone!
L-R, Gregg, Shannon, Terry,
Lori, Lowell, Barb, Mike, Helen,
and Pdon.
The 2011 Annual
Snowshoe hike was
great! The EAA 919 annual Snowshoe
hike is getting bigger and bigger
every year! This year 10 mem-
bers and friends (plus 4 dogs!)
hiked during the day to the ridge
George (Winona MN FBO) reported that the runway exten-sion project is going ahead in Winona (ONA). It will be a 3-year project financed 95% by federal money.
A side note to the snowshoe hike.
I took the “Trail 90” out a week after the hike to see exactly how
far we trekked! Well, the answer is 2.1 miles each way (4.2 total
miles). No wonder we all (the dogs included) were tired!
Lowell Finseth landing
