1 REGULATIONS
The measuring instrument in respect of which this certificate of EC pattern approval has been issued is subject to the provisions and requirements of the requirements of the Measuring Instruments (Material Measures of Length) Regulations 2006 (SI 2006/1267) and the Measuring Instruments (Non-Prescribed Instruments) Regulations 2006 (SI 2006/1270) which implement, in the United Kingdom, Council Directive 2004/22/EC.
2 DESCRIPTION OF THE PATTERN
The pattern is a small composite single side graduated measure, model name PROLOK. The blade is 3 m long, 13 mm wide, is made of steel and has a sliding hook at the free end. It has black markings on a yellow or white background protected by a clear film. The blade is graduated on the upper and lower edges in millimetres throughout; centimetres and half-centimetres are also marked. The centimetre intervals are numbered from 2 to 300. The decimetre numbers are marked in red. The first part of the blade is shown in Figure 1.
The case, shown in figure 12, is made primarily of plastic. The case does not display any dimensions for making internal measurements. The case may be any colour and may have a blade lock, belt hook and/or carrying strap.

7.2.1 The steel blade has black printed graduations on the lower edge on one face only with black centimeter numbering from 1-99 centimeters consecutively and red metre numbering. It is graduated every meter and decimetre and subdivided into centimetres, half centimetres and millimetres. The blade background may be coloured yellow or white. The blade is terminated by a riveted reinforced tip and attached to a pull loop. The zero datum is the outside edge of the pull loop. The numbering starts at 4 centimetres. See figure 16
