An information model is a framework that aligns with an asset hierarchy
The objective of assigning an asset hierarchy, whether brownfield or greenfield, reduces manual
effort of traditional data collection methods.
The information model framework can be tailored to asset hierarchies and where there is typical deployment of assets, the framework can become a template to achieve non-recurring engineering.

Creating an Information Model:
• Contextualizes data sets for big data
analysis projects
• Allows OT engineer to organize data in
context as it pertains to the OT assets
• Increases engineering efficiency for project
deployment
• Simplifies maintenance and updates
