1 Important Information

Thank you for selecting AnimalCrossing™: New Leaf forNintendo 3DS™.

Please read this manual carefullybefore using this software. If thesoftware is to be used by youngchildren, the manual should be readand explained to them by an adult.

Before use, please also read theOperations Manual for yourNintendo 3DS system. It containsimportant information that will helpyou enjoy this software.

This software is designed only foruse with the European/Australianversion of the Nintendo 3DS system.

2 Introduction

Take on the role of mayor orresident as you seek to construct atown based on your ownimagination. Build and maintainfriendships with your neighbours,and use your town's resources tomake it as attractive a place aspossible to live. Never has town lifebeen as much fun as in AnimalCrossing: New Leaf!

♦ Only the first player to register agame on the Nintendo 3DSsystem can take on the role ofmayor. All subsequent players(players two to four) can onlyassume the role of town resident.

Animal Crossing: New Leafuses your Nintendo 3DSsystem's internal calendar andclock to create a town whichfollows real life's current dayand season! 5 Saving and Erasing Data

Pre in-game to displaythe different options for saving yourgame. These options becomeavailable only after a certain point inthe game.

Saving Dat

● Do not turn the power off,reset the system or removeGame Cards/SD Cards whilesaving. Make sure not to getdirt in the terminals. Theseactions could result inpermanent data loss.

● Do not use externalaccessories or software tomodify your save data, asthis can lead to an inabilityto progress or loss of savedata. Any modification ispermanent, so be careful.

Demolish My Hom(Erase Saved D

You can onldemolish your homwhen playing as resident. If you selethis option, all savedata for that resident will be erased.If you wish to erase the mayor'ssaved data, select the optionRE-CREATE THE TOWN, and allsaved in-game data will be erased.

♦ 'Demolish my home' will eraseyour resident's saved data.

♦ 'Re-create the town' will erase allsaved data for your town,meaning you will have to start thegame again from scratch.

About SD CardsImages taken in-game using thecamera application (p. 3), QRCode® patterns and any datareceived via SpotPass (p. 13)will automatically be saved tothe SD Card.

To avoid losing progress, it isessential to save before ending thegame or switching off theNintendo 3DS. The first time playersquit without saving, Mr. Resetti willgive them a gentle warning aboutthe importance of saving. He will notappear again unless the playerchooses to set up the ResetSurveillance Center (when theoption becomes available).

Parents should be aware that Mr.Resetti's personality and tone ofvoice, while intentionally humorous,are authoritative and may bedisturbing to young children. Thosewishing to avoid meeting Mr. Resettican simply choose not to set up theReset Surveillance Center.

In the HappHome Showcas(HH Showcase)you can view thmodel homes oother players after you havereceived them through SpotPass(p. 13) or StreetPass (p. 14). Youcan also place orders for many ofthe furniture and other items yousee in the model homes. You canalso configure your StreetPasssettings here.

Dream Suit

When playinonline (p. 16), yocan allow otheplayers to walaround your towin their dreams, while you can alsodreamily explore their towns.

♦ Each dream has its own specific12 digit ID number called aDream Address. In order to see adream, search by this number andyou will be taken directly to it.

♦ Only once you have connectedyour Nintendo 3DS system to theinternet, will you be able to buildthe Dream Suite.

♦ Dreams which have not beenupdated in a while may beautomatically removed.

♦ Up to 48 model houses can bedisplayed via StreetPass.

12 Things to Do on the Island

Island Tour

There is a hugvariety of minigames to take pain when you joitours. By takinpart in these tours you can earnMedals and also collect items whichcannot be found anywhere else inthe game.

Receiving Presentsand HH ShowcaseData (SpotPass)

This software supports the automaticdownload of letters, items, modelhomes for the HH Showcase (p. 11)and other data via an internetconnection. If you activate SpotPasswithin the game, your system willautomatically look for nearbywireless networks you can connectto, even when you're not playingthe game (for example, when yoursystem is in Sleep Mode).
