JOINING EUROLIGHT WORKTOPS
01 SETTING UP THE TEMPLATEWith the help of the EGGER template as well as a standard,
commercially available hand router (with a 30 mm guide bush) and
a 70 mm router bit, worktop joints can be produced quickly and
efficiently. Please ensure that additional support is provided for that
overhanging template.
03 MALE CUTWorktop should be positioned reverse side up and the pin for the
front stop fixed in place. Align the template parallel to the end of
the worktop, with a space of 23 mm from the template to the edge
of the worktop, then secure in place using clamps.
02 FEMALE CUTFix the pin for the back stop. Align the template parallel to
the postformed edge with a space of 8 mm, then secure in place
using clamps.
04 CUT OUTS FOR THE EUROLIGHT WORkTOP CONNECTORS TYPE MThe EGGER template includes the cut outs for EUROLIGHT
Worktop Connectors Type M. After routering out the underside of
the worktop and clearing the excess honeycomb core, the cutter
depth should be set to 56 mm, so that it cuts a maximum of 4 mm into
the top chipboard surface. Router in a straight line along the front
edge of the cut out to provide the necessary space for the connector
to take hold. The access slots of the connector bolts should then
be cut into the longitudinal frame of the female cut.

HOB AND SINK CUT OUTS
01 CUT OUTSDue to the honeycomb core, cut-outs are quick, simple and extend
the tooling life. Once the size of the cut out has been determined
and marked onto the worktop, cut the appropriate section using
either a manual saw or a jigsaw, with the worktop surface facing
downwards.
02 SEALINGThe cut outs should be sealed using the EUROLIGHT T-profile to
prevent against both heat and moisture ingress. For a durable fixing
we recommend using EGGER universal glue, which should be
applied on the top and bottom grooves of the EUROLIGHT T-profile.
03 HOB INSTALLATIONBefore installing the hob, aluminium tape should be applied over
the EUROLIGHT T-profile to prevent heat from affecting the
cut-out-area. Hobs can be installed in a number of ways, either
by screwing the fixing brackets directly into the profile or by
routering slots in the EUROLIGHT T-profile to attach the fittings.

HOB AND SINK CUT OUTS
EDGING EUROLIGHT WORKTOPS
As most mounting brackets supplied with sinks are generally designed
for 38 mm worktops, EGGER have developed a sink installation
adapter to specifically work with 60 mm worktops. These adapters
can be used with most sink brands and are assembled by simply
inserting them into the existing mounting brackets.
04 SINk INSTALLATIONAs the EUROLIGHT T-profile is approximately 1 mm narrower
than the worktops, please ensure that all unprotected or exposed
areas are sealed using a silicone sealant. For added protection
against moisture we also recommend applying aluminium tape to
the EUROLIGHT T-profile joints in each of the corners.
01 APPLYING THE GLUEWe recommend finishing any exposed edges with 64 × 2 mm ABS
Edgings, which can be glued on site using EGGER universal glue or
contact glue. EGGER universal glue should be applied evenly to a
clean and dust-free worktop edge using a paint brush.
14
EUROLIGHT
03 APPLYING THE EUROLIGHT DECOR PROFILEThe EUROLIGHT Decor profile has been developed with the same
principle as EUROLIGHT T-profile, but is now colour matched to
the new range of 15 decors and available in a selection of matching
widths. Differences in the processing compared to EUROLIGHT
T-profile and ABS Edging is minimal. After cutting the worktop to size,
remove the grooves in the EUROLIGHT Decor profile to
accommodate the longitudinal frame in the worktop. Apply EGGER
universal glue using a paint brush to both the clean and dust free
worktop edge as well to both sides of the EUROLIGHT Decor
profile. Finally the EUROLIGHT Decor profile should be fixed in place
to set by using reinforced strength tape or a screw clamp.
04 FINISHING THE EDGEWe recommend using edge routing tools or special cutting blades for
removing the excess edging. An edge profile can then be created
with a draw blade to even out possible irregularities from routing and
buffing should take place in order to remove any dirt and add shine.
02 APPLYING THE EDGINGThe ABS Edging should be pressed on with a edge press or screw
clamp using a rigid underlay (e.g. Chipboard or MDF), ensuring
that there is sufficient overhang of edging on both the face and the
underside of the worktop
