The relationships between King Lear and his three daughters, Goneril, Regan, and Cordelia, amongst whom he plans todivide the kingdom in a public ceremony. This plan is disrupted by Cordelia’s decision to express her love for her fatherthrough silence. He banishes her, and play focuses on the events that unfold.
King Lear, his three daughters (Cordelia, Regan, and Goneril). Also included are Kent (Lear’s right-hand man), Oswald(Goneril’s servant), Albany and Cornwall, who are husbands to General and Regan respectively, Edmund and Edgar, brothers,and sons of the duke of Gloucester.
