Our Bell Tower and Perth Mint Excursion
On Tuesday, the 9th of April, the year 4 class went into the city and visited the Bell Tower and the Perth Mint because we wanted to find out about these places and their history. My dad, Mr Elezovich, and Mrs Mullen came with us. When I got to school, everyone had their hats on and looked very excited. We were asked to put on a name tag and put our lunch, recess and water bottles into the eskies. When the bell rang, we lined up outside to go on the bus. When we got to the Bell Tower we ate recess and we tried to find our school’s paving tile. When we found it we were looking for Mrs B’s name. Jenna came out to where we were and told us where we were going to go and what we were going to do. She took us up to level 1 and there we met Laura, the bell ringer. First she told us about the history of the bells. Then she rang a bell that was the weight of a smart car. When I had a go at ringing a bell, my hands were red and burning by the time I finished. At the Perth Mint, we waited outside for ages. Kirsty and I got bored so we played clapping games. When we went in, John took us outside to teach us about the history of gold. Then he took us into the display rooms where we tried to find the second biggest gold nugget in the world. He also showed us a one tone, pure gold, one dollar coin. Then we went into a very, very hot room to watch a gold pour. It was very interesting. We got onto the bus and went to the park and ate lunch. We played two games of Duck, Duck, Goose and Indians and Teepees. Then we got on the bus and went back to school. By Jacki

My Trip to PMH
On Tuesday, the 9th of April my class went on an excursion when I went to PMH. PMH stands for Princess Margaret Hospital. On the way to PMH, mum, dad and I were looking at roofs on people’s houses for our new house. I was sitting at the front, mum was at the back and dad was driving. When we got there mum and I signed in to PMH while dad found a parking spot. When dad was finding a parking spot I was getting an X-‐ray. After I had an X-‐ray we had to wait for the doctor to call us to come and see my X-‐ray. He said it was badly sprained. So he called us in to this room to see if we get to take it off and get about. When I saw the doctor he said I didn’t need anything so we had to go home. On the way to the car dad carried me. On the way home we got stuck in a lot of traffic. it took us an hour and a half to get home. By Abby
The Year 4 Excursion
On Tuesday, the 9th of April, my class and I went on an excursion to the Bell Tower and the Perth Mint. My mum, Mrs Mullen and Jacki’s dad, Mr Elezovich came with us. We went there because we wanted to learn about these places. When I got to school I walked to class to put my and my mum’s recess and lunch in the esky. When the bell rang we all lined up at the front of the class waiting to go on the bus. On the way to the Bell Tower I read “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” and so far I am enjoying the book. When we got to the Bell Tower we had recess on the grass at the front. The tour began when Jenna came and met the class. She took us up to level two and we met Laura who showed us how to ring the bells. I rang one bell. After the tour of the Bell Tower we hopped on the bus and drove to the Perth Mint. At the Perth Mint we waited at the front of it and did a toilet break before the tour. We began the tour after the toilet break. The man whose name was John showed us the fake gold. We went into the theatre to see how they made gold in the olden days. Mum got me a token from the Perth Mint. Mrs Blazeski gave us a challenge to find the most expensive jewel in the jewellery shop. I found the most expensive one. We hopped on the bus again and drove to a park to have lunch and play some fun games. By Nathan
