A political deal
In July 1932 the Nazis were the largest party in the Reichstag.
President Hindenburg (Head of the Government) should have asked
Hitler to become Chancellor (Prime Minister) but he refused.
It would take an agreement between several politicians to
make Hitler Chancellor.
The Depression made the Weimar
Government look weak.
The Nazi Party won 288 seats
in the Reichstag in July 1932
Only Middle Class people
voted for Hitler.
Hindenburg liked Hitler but did not want to make him Chancellor. Papen became Chancellor
