FALL EDITION 2012
SHU: McNair Scholar Review
Siena Heights University Director’s Corner - Celebrating 20 years of Excellence
Welcome to Fall Semester, 2012! This edition of the McNair Newsletter brings a time of year that is both joyful and sad for me. Scholars I have worked with for two years graduated in May and as I said good-bye to them it was a sad day. They were such a special group and I wish them all good things as they move on to the next phase of their lives! The day after graduation I was excited to meet the next cohort of scholars to begin our summer class. This newest group of recruits not only survived our summer Research Boot Camp but gave excellent presentations of their research projects! Congratulations and a warm welcome to Siena stu-dents: Amber Beauchamp, Jasmine Caldwell, Chas Frey, Lynn Hendricks & Kyle Timmis and to students from Adrian College including Chelsey Cline, Danyelle Greene, Kat Labick and Mariah Wright. We know you will uphold the McNair Motto: McNair Scholars Reach Great Heights! There are changes in the McNair office as well and we said good-bye to Kelly Castleberry as she moves on to a full-time position. Dion McCrary has decided to go back to graduate school for a second master’s degree and will now be with us on a part-time basis. Good luck with your classes, Dion! Have a great semester! Patricia Wallace, Ph.D. Program Director.
