The first thing you’ll notice about Lucy is that she’s missing a leg. But once you see the 5-month-old puppy bouncing around the yard, you won’t give that missing leg a second thought. Lucy sure doesn’t. Although the Catahoula mix is a limb short of what some may call “normal” she still walks, runs and plays like any other dog. The breed is known to be active and very intelligent and Lucy could spend hours fetching various squeaky toys.
She’s devoted and affectionate, her personality bubbling to the surface when she’s playing or on a walk. She loves everyone she meets and would be an excellent addition to any active family. For more information call the Arizona Humane Society at 602-997-7585 x2045 and ask for animal ID number A449985.

Making the grade with Sex and The City’s Patricia Fields, hanging with (BBD supporter) Manila Luzon, & stepping up at the Equality Forum with singer, Kerli... Brandon Bermudez’s future is looking brighter. So bright,
he had to create his own shades. And this is just the beginning.

he shades were inspired by 12th century chess pieces.
Having always been inspired by “the old” or “vintage”
things...I have given the names of the shades
a twist by designing and combining
SCI-FI and chess.
The Queens & The Shady Bishops, which have been
seen on Patricia Field, Sex and the City’s
Designer and Stylist.
As of now, a lot has been happening with my little
collection... I’ve been featured as a designer on fashion week
at a event in NYC so I’ve been getting emails left and right.

I’m having a Photoshoot on the 29th of September for my Black Leather Collection. So, definitely looking forward to sharing these images and designs with Fashion Faces first!
I started these collections for my College Portfolio just to be a step ahead. That way, once I start applying for FASHION colleges in NYC I plan to be looked at more professionally. With my age, I hadn’t yet been taken seriously in the Fashion industry, but with this collection I was given the opportunity to showcase my work in NYC and been getting alot of buzz on social media.
The best is yet to come. Watch for more by Brandon Bermudez’s BRON BERMUDEZ DESIGNS out of Pennsylvania and New York!

rawing, painting and taking photographs have always brought enjoyment to me. I have always been artistic in many aspects. College allowed me to focus on photography. While I mostly work digitally, I have a background in black and white film, silver gelatin printing, and a wide variety of 19th century processes. My passion has helped me excel and I recently graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Photography, from Arizona State University. Having a degree in photography allows me to be creative in every way.
In addition to photography, my obsession with makeup and fashion is second to none. I focus on styling and makeup the most when in the creative process. When I was 19, I signed with modeling agency, Leighton Agency Incorporated, based out of Scottsdale, Arizona. Modeling has permitted me to expand my modeling portfolio, and provide knowledge and understanding of the fashion markets and lifestyles. Modeling has also given me a huge opportunity to meet amazing designers, stylists, makeup artists, and other contacts and work for my photography business.
I strongly feel that my experiences in modeling have enhanced my photographic work. Understanding how to communicate with models to get the desired outcome for photographic images helps, because I know what is needed on both sides of the camera.

y passion for design grew out of a need to create more interesting images, and to find unique ways to wear the fashions I was/am selling in my online store Victory Vintage Boutique. (Now in its 12th year!) My heart has always been in vintage fashion. When I came into some beautiful vintage garments that weren’t too damaged for resale; I began designing and morphing them into modern versions.
This became the birth of an artistic hand-made collection of headpieces, crowns, and high fashion glamour pieces, derived from the inspirations of vintage fine art & illustrations. My headpiece designs have been greatly inspired by Art Nouveau, a popular style of art, architecture and applied art, during the turn of the 20th century. I also draw inspiration from the birth of the Renaissance via the Victorian era. Being fond of the soft feminine feel of the Victorian style, and mixing it with a bit of modern-punk creates my style.
I love using natural elements in the pieces I create. In Earth Sower, I made the headpiece of all natural pheasant feathers and fish netting. The ruffle shrug is made from a vintage prom gown, and the bustier is a vintage hand dyed design (all pieces available in my online boutiques). Costume design was not my original intent, but I have begun to greatly enjoy the creative freedom of designing cutting-edge high fashion editorial sets for our fashion photography.
Photography, in my opinion, should always capture the essence of the scene, the fashion, and the characters; it’s main objective is to tell the story to the viewer. For example, in Earth Sower, though the character has a regal stature she is low to the ground; representing dwelling amongst the inhabitants.”

nderwater fashion photography seemed like a natural next step in my concept photography growth. Plus it was a welcome challenge! I am fascinated with the elements of nature and the way fabrics and textures become “alive” under water. So I took the plunge!
The planning for “Fire Starter’ & “Winged” was pretty extensive and took weeks, actually. Haley’s costume design was hand made by me prior to the shoot. Reagan is wearing Alina Ionescu’s amazing white braided dress in her set. I really love how it gave a creepy factor with the braiding floating up to her neck.
http://fashion-faces.com | OCT 2013 69
My makeup artist Kelsey created an intense bold color design for the models eyes to really pop under water and really show up strong. We used all waterproof creams, liners and mascara. This was also my models’, Haley & Reagan’s, first underwater shoot so learning to pose and keep facial expressions while taking direction was a huge challenge that they executed flawlessly.
For backdrop setup, I used a plastic table cover anchored to the bottom of the pool for backdrop. Using a special camera casing for my Nikon while in the water, we utilized a ladder and got elevation above the girls. I had two assistants helping hold me and the models underwater, because you struggle with floating to the top while trying to get the shot! Its quite funny!
The memories are priceless...and hopefully the images are too.” - Brande Wilkerson

lysha Triantafillou is an American fashion model who resides in NYC. Her descent is Greek and French. Her last name Triantafillou (Triantafyllou) in Greek means rose flower in the Greek language, translates as thirty leaves (petals). She was scouted at age 14 with her family eating at a local Cheesecake Factory. The scout was very interested in Alysha’s European/Mediterranean look and took polaroids and her measurements of the stunning 5’9 beauty that quickly made it to Wilhelmina Models in NYC where Alysha was signed. She says she inherited her looks from her Greek father and his mother. Alysha’s father was the owner of Greek Diners in the NY tristate area. Alysha is an only child. After high school Alysha studied Pre-Med at SUNY Albany in NY, and started her college education a year early at a local community college. Alysha has always been intrigued by the fashion industry ever since she has been a child reading Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Teen Vogue, but never thought she would be working in this industry. Alysha enjoys working with top designers and being apart of their vision for the season. Alysha enjoys traveling, reading, yoga, pilates, singing, doing humanitarian work, and traveling to Greece when not working as a fashion model for APM Models.

acia O Couture headwear and Stacey Blanchet of Blanchet Designs had their designs, once again, grace the red carpet at the 2013, 65th Annual Emmy Awards.
Actress and TV co-host Tia Barr, with more than 20 credits to her name, and print and runway model Lydia Trainer-Domalgaska, attended the Emmy’s for the second year in a row this year. Styled by Sacia O and Blanchet Designs, the two were prepared for the big day by celebrity makeup artist Paul Fisher, celebrity hair stylist Martin Rodriguez, and nail and skincare specialist Ilona Landver.
Preparations for the event began early in the morning at 8 am, at Charm Salon in Sherman Oaks, with the arrival of Ms. Trainer-Domalgaska. With each stage of the process meticulously planned, her entire look slowly began to take shape. From makeup to hair, from her elegant tribal-inspired headpiece by sacia O Couture headwear to the beautiful snake print dress by Blanchet Designs, her look flowed seamlessly together. Actress Tia Barr arrived at the salon next, receiving the full celebrity treatment. Although incredibly down-to-earth, Ms. Barr had a presence that left no doubt as to how she had come to be in show business. With elegant hair design, natural makeup, wardrobe styling by Pinky Campbell and a champagne-colored, Swarovski-crusted head piece, Ms. Barr took to an old Hollywood style for the night.
When it came time for the Emmy’s, both women were well-received on the red carpet, and at the event while back stage, Ms. Trainer-Domalgaska received compliments from celebrated designer, Zac Posen, on her ensemble for the evening. - Stacey Blanchet

STYLE GURU | UNITED KINGDOM
intage/Retro? Or Just Dodgy Old Schmutter? There can be no doubt that the big story in fashion for a very long time has been an ‘Old’ one!
Blending and mixing the hot and new with the heritage coolness factor of some little classic from the past, is definitely the fashionable badge of ultra- coolness for all those in the know! However, this particular approach to style, is often fraught with danger! For how do you spot the difference between a mind-blowingly cool bit of Yohji Yamamoto 80’s Heritage, and some dodgy old bit of polyester schmutter, that was never cool in the first place!
The answer of course, is that one should simply have ‘the eye’, and be blessed with good antenna! In the past perhaps this was the case, sadly today very few are blessed with this rare and valuable gift!
Retro and Vintage Shops have appeared like a rash on the landscape in recent years! Some of them of course have been around for years, for ‘vintage’ is nothing new! In the past however, it was never referred to as vintage/retro/heritage! It was simply ‘cool old stuff’! And without the obsessional branding of everything today, all the better for it!
Ninety percent of these shops of course are simply selling dodgy old schmutter that nobody wanted in the first place, and trying to pass it off as ‘retro-vintage classics’ to people who have not done their homework, and don’t know the difference! This is however no excuse for taking advantage of consumer credulity! East London’s ‘trendy’ Brick Lane area is infested with these shops, and they are in the main, best avoided!
To be highly recommended though is London’s Portobello Road Vintage Fashion Street Market! Set in the legendary Notting Hill area of West London, Portobello is perhaps the worlds most famous street market! And justifiably so! For fifty years and more this has been the center of London’s Cool Arty Bohemian Subculture, in a way that the fake nuevo trendiness of East London could never hope to equal. Not only the Vintage Clothes Market, but indeed the adjoining area itself has a host of cool arty wonderfully bohemian authentic vintage/retro shops, where unlike their East London counterparts one can find some genuine ‘classics’! Indeed a Japanese friend of mine on a recent visit to London, was in a state of near euphoria, having found a pair of ‘classic’ Vivienne Westwood sandals in almost mint condition, and in the original box for twenty dollars!
In the sixties, Portobello was the focal point for London’s arty bohemian subculture! Pink Floyd’s legendary eccentric front man, Syd Barrett, Mark Bolan, and a whole host of pop cultural movers, shakers and luminaries would be found hanging out here...swathed in velvet, satin, beads, Indian finery and vintage Victorian threads!
The seventies saw Portobello hosting the emergence of UK Punk/Post Punk New Wave! With the then new Rough Trade Records and the various artists on the label, plus all the Reggae luminaries like Bob Marley, all to be found in this area! Future music legends and boho-fashion icons, The Slits, whom Madonna lifted her whole original look from (and with whom this writer worked) lived in Portobello, as did The Clash! And even today, Mick Jones and Paul Simenon can be seen here. Mr. Jones, looking these days like a rather stylish designer undertaker! With property prices through the roof since the movie ‘Notting Hill,’ it is no longer a cheap living option! And Indeed if you want to enjoys some serious celeb spotting, this is where you come to see the real ‘Faces’! Another music and fashion icon, often to be seen here, is legendary rock star Paul Weller…still very much the ‘Modfather,’ and certainly one of the most cooly-stylish and best dressed men around!
What has to be remembered though, is that this is where fashion actually begins! And today’s cool arty boho street-chic, is tomorrow’s catwalk killer! In today’s Portobello Road Market one should avoid Saturday. Although overwhelmed with tourism, the cool day is Friday or Sunday for all you terminal celeb spotters. That’s when they are about! One can still find those hot little items…those authentic totally to-die-for vintage gems, if you look carefully! The days however when you could leave the market with a bag full of goodies for five dollars, are long gone! But for the serious fashion junky and style trainspotter, there are certainly bargains to be had, and most certainly fun to be had (if you can beat the girls from Central St Martins and the Royal College of Art, to the ultra-cool must have Yohji Yamamoto, Comme des Garcons or Issey Miyake Vintage Classics that is!). - Chris Garland, London. http://puremindclothing.com http://fashion-faces.com | OCT 2013 115
