Finca Bellavista is a residential treehouse community in its formative years in the south Pacific coastal region of Costa Rica. We are a rustic, yet comfortable, private retreat off the beaten path where residents and limited numbers of guests can explore the natural wonders of the rainforest canopy and enjoy what we like to call ‘treetop Pura Vida’. You definitely won’t find flashy billboards or roadside signs that lead you to Finca Bellavista… Finca Bellavista is not a full-service spa, a fancy hotel, or a canopy tour.

Finca Bellavista is located in an amazing and relatively untouched portion of Costa Rica that is far removed from many of the influences of the outside world. Our neighbors and friends are indigenous families and hard-working farmers. The nearest town (1.5 miles away) contains a school, a church, a pulperia, a bus stop, a handful of houses, and (of course) a soccer field. That’s it. No souvenir shops, no mini-malls, and no rowdy bars.

There has been a lot of progress to get the community ‘off the ground’ since its inception 8 years ago. Our “base camp” is complete and has a sprawling community complex complete with a dining hall, an open-air lounge, a rancho, a bathhouse, a campfire ring and a wedding garden. Nearly one-half of the community’s “Sky Trail” transportation network is now up and running, offering stunning canopy and pristine river corridor views. Treehomes are starting to speckle the skyline, and a handful are ready to rent to short and long-term visitors. There are quite a few owners in various stages of creating and building treehomes, bringing lots of new energy and excitement to our growing neighborhood, which is truly like no other in the world.

Finca Bellavista, while a one-of-a-kind concept, is also in a one-of-a-kind place. The finca as a whole, comprised of nearly 600 acres of secondary and primary rainforest and reclaimed pasture, provides a nearly custom-built backdrop to house the world’s first master planned, modern, sustainable, and truly arboreal community. Perched overlooking the Golfo Dulce and nurtured by two whitewater rivers, the location of this unique enclave is unmatched in its magnificence and pulses with life. While it feels a world away, Finca Bellavista boasts easy access to some of the country’s most stunning natural assets, like National Parks, isolated beaches and epic mountainscapes. Those with a spirit of adventure will feel right at home amongst the outdoor activities available on-site and nearby. The finca is a true sanctuary for those that love nature and want to immerse themselves in the wonders of the rainforest.

Though we are providing an experience for humans to dwell, interact, and grow within the treetop realm, we remain committed to being stewards of this land and our environment. Everything we do at Finca Bellavista is done with consciousness, caution and care guided by our personal beliefs. This is sacred ground. As our neighborhood has evolved and become a world-renowned arboreal paradise we have become keenly aware of the issues and challenges facing the world’s rainforests. In 2012, we created the non-profit branch of our community, The Bellavista Initiative, to begin the process of manifesting regional conservation goals.

The Finca Bellavista treehouse village is a self-sustaining private community located in the South Pacific coastal region of Costa Rica. The location and lifestyle this neighborhood offers is a one-of-a-kind experience and has become a very special place to call home. While there are limited opportunities to own and reside within this whimsical treetop paradise, there are several parcels being offering exclusively through Finca Bellavista.

Each parcel at Finca Bellavista is surveyed, titled, deeded and registered with the Costa Rican National Registry. It is helpful for those interested in the concept of Finca Bellavista to review our website at fincabellavista.com along with the Community Guidelines to get a better idea of how this community will look, feel, and function in the years to come. We work with individual property owners to design and build the treehome of their dreams.

Finca Bellavista is comprised of 600+ acres of primary rainforest and secondary rainforest. Perched overlooking the Golfo Dulce and nurtured by two whitewater rivers, the location of this enclave is unmatched in its magnificence and pulses with life. Finca Bellavista offers privacy, seclusion, and immersion, yet boasts easy access to modern amenities and some of the country’s most stunning natural assets, including National Parks, rugged beaches and epic mountainscapes.

Half-price lodging is available to parties that close on a parcel at Finca Bellavista. To enable a property tour that provides a sufficient exploration of the finca, we recommend a minimum stay of three nights to enjoy two full days immersed in the highlights of our community. Due to the nature of our project and schedule demands, we cannot accommodate day tours, drop-in visitors, or property tours without advanced notification and a reservation.
