Community Thanksgiving Service
Some people consider Thanksgiving to be an almost forgotten holiday. Many people see it as just a long
holiday weekend. This year, I would like to encourage everyone to make Thanksgiving respectable again.
Psalm 100 is a great reminder of what Thanksgiving is all about. The passage encourages us to “Enter into
His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him and bless His name.”
Thanksgiving is a vital part of our coming together to worship God. Come join us for the Community-
Wide Thanksgiving Service that will be held on Tuesday, November 25 at 7:00 p.m. in The Family Church
of Winnfield. Brother Joel Hines, Pastor of The Family Church, will be preaching the Thanksgiving mes-
sage and music will be provided by numerous choirs and praise teams from throughout the community.
Make plans to bring your family and come join us for this special worship service.
First Family Christmas
You will not want to miss this time of food, fun, and fellowship that has become a tradition at First Bap-
tist Church. Mark your calendars now for Wednesday, December 3 at 6:00 p.m. and bring your family and
friends.
Celebration Ringers in Concert
The Celebration Ringers will be presenting their annual Christmas Concert at F.B.C. on Sunday, Decem-
ber 7 at 6:00 p.m. The program will include both secular and sacred selections. We will “piggy-back” our
concert with the Children’s Choir Christmas musical during this service.
David’s Dynasty the Children’s Musical!
The Children’s Choir of F.B.C. will be the second group to share during the service on Sunday, Decem-
ber 7 at 6:00 p.m. This year’s musical will include an interesting interpretation of the Christmas story from
a Duck Dynasty perspective. Come and support the Children’s Choir, as well as the Celebration Ringers.
Night of the Father’s Love
This Christmas musical is a fresh telling of the Christmas story that focuses on worship, mystery, and
beauty. It is a beautiful and powerful worship experience that will be one of the highlights of the Christmas
season. There will be two performances of Night of the Father’s Love. One on Sunday, December 14 at
6:00 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church Sanctuary and the other on Sunday, December 21 at 6:00
p.m. in the First Baptist Church Sanctuary.
Happy Thanksgiving!

YOUTH MINISTRY YOUTH EVANGELISM
CELEBRATION (YEC):
YEC is in Lafayette this year and will
begin on Sunday, Nov. 23 and will
conclude on Monday, Nov. 24 (this is
the week students are out of school for
Thanksgiving break). YEC will feature
speaker Wes Hamilton, musical groups
For King & Country and Finding
Favour, and illusionist Jared Hall.
Students need to bring their overnight
bags with them to church this Sunday
morning, Nov. 23. We will eat lunch at
church after the morning service, and
we will leave from the church after
lunch for Lafayette. We will travel on a
charter bus, and we will return to
Winnfield late, late Monday night, Nov.
24.
The cost will be $25 per attendee, and
that covers YEC and a hotel room. If
you have not turned in your money,
please see Colin at the church office.
CHRISTMAS TOY DRIVE:
Our youth ministry is partnering with
the Hub in Shreveport to conduct a toy
drive for the less fortunate families in
the Shreveport area.
The youth can buy toys and bring
them up to the third floor until we take
the toys to the Hub later on in Decem-
ber. On December 20, the youth will
travel up to Shreveport and help distrib-
ute the toys to families at the Hub’s
“Toy Store.”
More info on this soon!
A big THANK YOU to my
church family for all the love,
support, and acts of kindness shown
to my mother and our family during
her years spent in Winnfield. She
loved being of the Homebound
Ministry in her “adopted” church.
We were blessed to have had her
with us for 96 years.

Joan & I want to take this means to
thank each and every one of you for
the numerous cards, letters, calls,
visits, and all the wonderful food that
has been provided during my recent
recovery. Your thoughts & prayers are
all so greatly appreciated during this
time.
