Introduction Of Fluid Mechanics
Definitions1. Density2. Specific Weight3. Specific Gravity4. Viscosity5. Specific volume
1. Density: It is ratio of mass of subsatnce per unite volume.
2. Specific Weight:It is ratio of Weight per unite volume. It is doneted by 𝜌=weight/𝑉𝑜𝑙𝑢𝑚𝑒3. Specific Gravity: Liquid is the ratio of it’s density of water and specific gravity of gas is ratio of density to density of air at STP.
4. Viscosity: The property of a fluid which offers resistance to the movement of one layer of fluid over another adjacent layer of the fluid.a) Co-efficient viscosity b) Kinematic viscosity v=
5. Specific Volume: It is ratio of Volume per unite mass of substance
Tyepe of Pressure1. Atmospheric Pressure2. Gauge pressure3. Vaccum pressure4. Absolute Pressure
• 1.Atmospheric Pressure:• It is pressure exerted by the air on the
surface of the earth.• Measuring device atmospheric pressure
Mercury column barometer
3. Vacuum pressure: When pressure is below the atmospheric pressure is called vacuum pressure. it’s measured by vacuum gauge.
2. Gauge Pressure: This pressure , atmospheric pressure is consider zero, and this pressure is above the atmospheric pressure. it’s measured by Pressure gauge
4. Absolute pressure: it is pressure which is measured with reference to absolute independent of the change in atmospheric pressure. It is measured above the absolute zero of pressure.
