• You will need to consider the 3 R’s as you work through this.

FDR VS. THE SUPREME COURT
• 6 of 9 justices were over 70 and thought it was their duty to rule against FDR (programs were “socialist”).
• FDR wants to add 1 new justice for every justice over 70 (cap at 15 justices).
• Roosevelt's initiative ultimately failed.

• The EOC has not been scheduled, but I’m hoping to have a couple of review days before that (sometime in April).
• We really will not have time to review in class before the APUSH exam (May 8).
• 5 APUSH Review Sessions – Thursdays after school, after Spring Break.
WAS THE NEW DEAL A SUCCESS OR A FAILURE? SKILL = HISTORICAL ARGUMENTATION
• Class will be divided into 2 teams.
• Use documents provided to build your argument
• Remember – The best arguments come from sourcing: Who wrote the document? What is their motive? Are they reliable? • EXAMPLE: If a representative from the WPA says that the New
Deal is so great, kids on Team B should challenge the trustworthiness of her claim, given that she’ll lose her job if the program ends.
