Dr. Maryann Tolano-Leveque Dean of Students
INTRODUCTION TO THIS GUIDEDear Citrus College Community,Our students have many responsibilities as they balance personal responsibilities with homework, class schedules, fees and books. Because they are pulled in so many directions with a multitude of obligations, many students experience increased levels of stress or anxiety while they attend college.
This guide is dedicated to providing students with information on free and low-cost services in an effort to ease some of these pressures, while also serving as a resource for college employees to reference when helping students in need.
It is my sincere hope that this guide serves as a starting point for many students who are unsure of where to begin to ask for help. At Citrus College, it is our collective goal to remove barriers for students so that their college journey ends with the successful completion of their educational objectives.
If you come across students who need support services outside of the areas listed in this guide, please have them call the 211 Directory. This is a confidential service that connects people with free resources, such as food, clothing, shelter, counseling or medical care, in their local area. Simply have the person dial “211” from any phone and let the operator know what area they are in and what services they need.
I look forward to working with everyone in the Citrus College family to create a supportive and welcoming environment for all students.
Sincerely,
Citrus College 1

Dreamer Resources
Financial AidCalifornia Dream ActThe California Dream Act, comprising state laws AB 130 and AB 131, has extended eligibility for certain types of institutional and state aid to students. The legislation allows students who meet specified criteria to receive the California College Promise Grant (CCPG) and the Cal Grant. Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) students and AB 540 students are eligible for scholarships as well.
Students who submit a California Dream Act application are automatically considered for the CCPG, which waives the registration fee. Students can also apply separately using the CCPG application.
This application is unrelated to the federal DACA program.
For more information about financial aid and scholarships, contact the Financial Aid Office at 626-914-8592 or visit www.citruscollege.edu/stdntsrv/finaid/pages/ccpg.aspx.
AB 540 California Nonresident Tuition ExemptionStudents who meet specified criteria, including citizens, permanent residents and undocumented students, may be eligible for an exemption from the nonresident tuition fee. The AB 540 exemption form can be downloaded at www.citruscollege.edu/ar/Documents/nonresident-tuition.pdf (PDF). Students must fill out the form and provide a copy of their official transcripts to the Citrus College Admissions and Records Office.
Reference Guide: Dreamer ResourcesThis guide is a comprehensive resource for students, parents and educators navigating the California Dream Act application. This guide covers basic information, eligibility requirements, detailed information on grants, application steps and frequently asked questions.
