That is Good News but I still believe if they can get on more cable and satellite
bacic plans they will sky rocket and blow those other channels out of the water.

That is some good news at least, but interesting their SVP of Merchandising is leaving, and
position won't be replaced. I wonder if there management structure is top heavy or trying to
reduce expenses or house cleaning?

Boy, you would think they would have mentioned the watch shows for saving their tails and
to thank our patronage...LOL

Considering how bad things have been, anything with black numbers is a good thing.

I did hear that watch shows consume the majority of Shop's air time so one might conclude
that watch buyers like us are doing more than our part to keep the Shop afloat.

Getting better
The best part is they are not losing as much money as they normally do.
"Net loss for the second quarter declined to $7.7 million compared to a net loss of $8.2 million for the same quarter last year."
Still have a long way to go. Hope those deep pockets hold out. __________________

I posted this earlier in another thread.............
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just read the entire thread. Here are my two cents. A few weeks ago Jim said he just bought a new house. Earlier in this thread he said some changes were coming. Jim is not stupid,
obviously he feels job security at the Shop. Or, at least something is cooking in Minnesota? I
worked for Warner Bros in the 90s. I was mid management. You may remember when AOL
bought Time Warner. In one meeting AOL's president decided to close 152 stores. Imagine
how many people that affected. Corporate can and will do anything they deem fit. On another note. If we lose ShopNBC our favorite guys can do a web cast. Larry does one now
about sports. If the watch companys supported them.....they could offer value pay? All of us
use our computers and would watch it. Yesterday I read that Hollywood is freaked out about
Goggle TV. The article stated that Goggle thinks tv, as we know it, is dead soon anyway. What do you think? Do you think I am off base? rod-

I'm glad the Shop is doing better financially. Good for them. I suspect a lot of us on WG
have added to that quarterly increase.

Another 12 months like the previous 12 (loss of $40M+) and there won't be a ShopNBC or whatever name they choose to change it to. They just don't have the cash to maintain the
business unless things turn around quickly, and personally, I don't see it happening. JMHO
They even stated in their $75M shelf registration filing of 7/26/10, that the company has a
"history of losses and a high fixed cost operating base and may not be able to achieve or maintain profitable operations in the future."
Also, "If we do not reverse our current trend of operating losses, we could reduce our
operating cash resources to the point where we will not have sufficient liquidity to meet the ongoing cash commitments and obligations to continue operating our business," the filing
states.

I'm sure its because of Jims shows. In the last yr the watch shows carry the most part of the
profit. I'm sure Jim got a big raise and the new house. If the watches quite selling there
would be big trouble. Since no free shipping had to help profits. Can you imagine if Jim decided to take his show elseware.
