Introduction
Intense fishing pressure survival of the stock? Reproduction: - egg & larvae distribution - Ig variations - macroscopic classification of gonads Major reason sample hard to get

Materials & MethodsSamples: mortalities (early summer) & harvested fish (winter) Two categories: 5 kg and 30 kg Measurement: Lf, Wb, Wg Histology: paraffin embedded, 5 m sections, hematoxylin-eozin stained
ResultsEarly maturation: over 20 kg in most cases : - in February first oogonia (4.45 kg!) - oocites 54.76 26.38 (previtellogenic stage) in January (53.8 kg) : - spermatogonia in January (53.8 kg) - postspawning period: August (22.5 kg)
Conclusions
Adipose and connective tissue: 5 10 kg First visible sex differentiation: over 20 kg Spawners: over 30 kg Spawning period: June August No atresia no spawning Development temperature- & indivudual-dependent Future: monthly sampling from entrance in cages till 2nd summer
