Ive successfully implemented programs to increase brand awareness, concisely communicate with customers and employees, and market products and services. !Ive been working online via blogs and social media since 2006, and Ive been a freelance writer since 1992. My writing has appeared in the New York Times, Houston Chronicle, Your Teen Magazine, Babble, and many others. !My blog Mocha Dad, started in 2008, has won numerous awards, and is one of the leading sites about fatherhood. In 2012, I started Mocha Man Style to cover lifestyle topics and provide a platform to work with companies that want to connect with men. !Im adept at online marketing, content creation, public speaking, event organization, and social media, and my skills have been acknowledged in the industry. In 2013, I ranked #12 on the list of Top 100 Social Media Power Influencers in Houston, TX and I increased my rank to #10 in 2014. I have amassed nearly 300,000 followers across my social media accounts. !I have been featured in media outlets such as NPR, CNN, Headline News, Black Enterprise, Ebony, HuffPost Live, Great Day Houston, Newsday, Sprout Social, and several radio stations across the country. Im a regular guest on the local public radio show Houston Matters and I appear on Fox 26 Houston periodically. I have also been a featured speaker and panelists at several blogging and social media conferences including Dad2.0, Hispanicize, Houston PR Day, Latism, Blog Elevated, New America, and others. !I have a strong background in writing, presenting, quality control, project management, and leadership.
