Requirements
Hardware Installation
1. Connect a USB cable from the printer to the USB port on the
GPSU21.
2. Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on
the GPSU21.
3. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the network. It
can be plugged into a
router, Ethernet switch/hub or bridge.
4. Connect the Power adapter to the print server.
5. Log into the router for the network (Normally 192.168.1.1 or
192.168.0.1).
6. Look for attached devices (wired) for something similar to
1P_PrintServE2DD28, note
the IP address assigned.
7. Open Internet Explorer or Safari; enter the IP address from step
6.
8. The GPSU21 homepage should appear as shown in diagram 1.

9. Click the Setup link.
10. The GPSU21 setup page should appear as shown in diagram
2.

11. Click the TCP/IP link.
12. The GPSU21 TCP/IP settings page should appear as shown in
diagram 3.

13. Enter the selected IP address that matches the network IP
address range and does
not conflict with any other IP address on the network (Make note of
this IP address as it
will be used later in the printer setup).
14. Enter the Subnet Mask (Normally 255.255.255.0).
15. Enter the Gateway (Normally the router IP address).
16. Scroll down the page until you see the Save button as shown in
diagram 4.

18. The GPSU21 will reboot as shown in diagram 5.

20. At this point the browser window may be closed.
* If needed, the GPSU21 reset procedure is as follows:
Disconnect the Ethernet cable and any devices connected to the
print server. With
power still connected hold the reset button for ten seconds. While
continuing to hold the
reset button unplug the power from the print server, continue
holding the reset button for
another ten seconds. While continuing to hold the reset button plug
the power back into
the print server and hold the reset button for another ten seconds.
At this point you can
now release the reset button and unplug the power from the print
server again. Allow
the print server to sit for another ten seconds, plug the power
back into the print server.

Windows Vista/Windows 7
In order to complete the steps you will need to login to an
administrator account on the
computer and know details such as the printer model and IP
address.
Click the Start button, type print in the Search programs and files
box and click “Add a
printer”

Choose “Add a local printer”
Click the bullet which says Create a new port and use the drop down
menu to choose
“Standard TCP/IP Port”
Click on "Next"
In the Hostname or IP Address field enter the IP Address (that you
made note of earlier)
for the printer you are adding.
If you see the following, select “Generic Network Card”

Click on "Next"
Choose the driver that corresponds to your printer model (or click
the Have Disk button
to search for downloaded drivers).
Click on "Next"

Click the bullet beside “Use the driver that is currently installed
(recommended)”
Click on "Next"
Click on "Next"
Make sure the bullet is selected beside “Do not share this
printer”
Click on "Next"
Click to put a check mark beside of Set as the default printer (if
you do wish to make it
your default printer).
Click the Print a test page button (if you wish to do so).
Click Finish
Your printer should now be set up and ready to use

Windows XP
In order to complete the steps you will need to login to an
administrator account on the
computer and know details such as the printer model and IP
address.
Choose Start Printers and Faxes Click the Add Printer item

Click "Next"
Select "Local printer attached to this computer" and be sure to
uncheck "Automatically
detect and install my Plug and Play printer"
Click on "Next"

Select "Create a new port" and select "Standard TCP/IP Port" from
the "Type of Port"
dropdown.

Enter the IP address of the printer you wish to use (that you made
note of earlier).

Select the correct driver for your printer.
Note: if your chosen printer does not appear in the list, you'll
need to cancel and
download the correct driver for your OS from the printer
manufacturer.

Click on "Next"

Enter a name of your choosing for your printer. Click on
"Next"
