CCHS has 11 scholarship signings
Destiney AmosDestiney is receiving an Academic Leadership schol-arship from the University of Montevallo, which cov-ers $2,500 per year and is renewable for up to eight semesters. She has also received a Faculty Scholarship from Jacksonville State University, which covers up to 16 tuition hours per semester. The scholarship is re-newable for up to four years. The value is $4,800 per semester for eight semesters for a total of $38,400. Destiney has also been chosen as a Smiths Scholar. This program will provide support for Destiney to at-tend The University of Montevello. The scholarship will cover her tuition, meal plan, books, other fees, and will provide opportunities to study abroad and participate in internships up to $60,000.
Julie Bedford Julie is receiving a Faculty Scholarship from Jackson-ville State University, which covers up to 16 tuition hours per semester. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years. The value is $4,800 per semester for eight semesters for a total of $38,400. She has also re-ceived partial tuition scholarships from the University of Alabama, Mississippi State, and the University of Mississippi.
Matthew Bonds Matthew is receiving an UAB Presidential Recogni-tion Scholarship from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, which covers up to 15 tuition hours per semester for four years. The value is $9,730 per year for a total of $38,920. He has also been awarded the Elite Scholarship from Jacksonville State University, which covers full tuition and housing per semester. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years. The value is for eight semesters for a total of $56,200. He is also the recipient of an Elks Scholarship.
Caroline Burgess– Caroline is receiving a Faculty Scholarship from Jacksonville State University, which covers up to 16 tu-ition hours per semester. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years. The value is $4,800 per semester for eight semesters for a total of $38,400.
Connor EwingConnor is receiving a Faculty Scholarship from Jack-sonville State University, which covers up to 16 tuition hours per semester. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years. The value is $4,800 per semester for eight semesters for a total of $38,400. Connor has also been offered a partial tuition scholarship from Auburn University.
Kyaira HeardKyaira is receiving a Leadership Scholarship from Jacksonville State University, which covers up to 12 tuition hours per semester. The value is per semester for eight semesters for a total of $31,000. She also re-ceived a $4,000 College counts scholarship.
Evan LeonardEvan is receiving a Presidential Scholarship from Au-burn University, which covers full tuition. The schol-arship is renewable for up to four years. The value is 8,592 per year for a total of $34,368. He has also been awarded a Presidential Scholarship to the University of Alabama. It is valued at $9,826 per year for a total of $39,304. He has also been awarded an Elite Scholar-ship to Jacksonville State University, which covers full tuition and housing per semester for four years. The value for eight semesters is $56,200.
Cesilia MarquezCesilia is receiving a full technical scholarship from Gadsden State Community College that is renewable for up to two years. She will use this scholarship to fur-ther her studies in automotive and collision repair.

Sadie Abigail Smith, the seventeen year old daugh-ter of Rocky and Alana Smith and Wes and Casey Pollard, is graduating with a 96.21 average. She serves as a leader on the Physics, Scholar’s Bowl and Math Teams. Sadie has cheered for six years and has been an All-American Cheer-leader for four years. She has represented her class on homecoming court for five years and is a member of FCA and the Yearbook Staff.
After graduation, Sadie plans to attend Southern Union State Community College, then further her education by transferring to Auburn University to major in Pharmacy.
CITIZENSHIP GIRLLora Rae Mobley re-
ceived the title of citizen-ship girl by her fellow teachers because she has show true moral character throughout the years. She is the daughter of DeAn-na and Terrell Mobley. As a member of Way of Life Fellowship Church, she takes a active role in her youth group and drama team. Lora is a member of Senior Beta Club and Fellowship Christian Athletes. She is also the Co-Captain of the 2015 Varsity Cheerleaders. Lora’s senior classmates voted her “Senior Beauty” and “Most Fashionable.”
After graduation Lora plans to attend Gadsden State Community College and pursue a degree in Radiology.
VALEDICTORIANHali Rae Wilson, is the
eighteen year old daughter of Ray and Tamela Wilson, is graduating with a 97.24 average. She is a member of SADD Club, Beta Clue, Winner’s Club and Fellow-ship of Christian Athletes. Hali is also involved with the Math Team, Physics Team and Language Arts Team. She played volley-ball her senior year, softball for three years and play basketball for six years, while she was honored as co-captain her senior year. Hali plans to attend Auburn University in the fall, majoring in Poul-try Science/Pre-Vet, and then further pursue her educa-tion by obtaining her Professional/Doctorate degree in Veterinary Medicine.
CITIZENSHIP BOY
Stephen Lee Casey was honored as citizenship boy due to his desire to give back to his society. He is the son of Lisa and Grey Casey. Stephen is a Hon-or Graduate, hold the rank of fourth in his class and attend Sandy Flat Baptist Church.
He is a member of the Physics Team, Scholars Bowl Team, Language Arts Team, Student Council, Senior Beta Club and Prayer and Bible Club. He was voted Treasurer of the senior class and “The Next Einstein” in the Who’s Who electives. Outside of school, he is a volunteer firefighter and a member of the Bowdon Elementary Robotics Club. He is well-respected by his teachers and peers, proving that he embodies the qualities desirable for this award.
