“WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN” 440 MAX WEDGE SUPER STOCK DEMON
In 1970, Tom Hoover, the legendary Chrysler engineer known as “The Father of the Hemi” proposed
a run of fifty 440 Max Wedge Dual Quad Dodge Demons to dominate NHRA SS/C for 1971 as a
follow-up to the Mr. Norm’s 1968 440 GSS Dart. Unfortunately, Chrysler did not approve the program
so Mr. Norm’s team built the only race ready Super Stock Demon to the actual Chrysler specifications.
