Grants Pass Seventh-day Adventist Church
Pastor Charles Byrd
May 26, 2018
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Psalm 46:1
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
10:50 AM Pastor Byrd’s sermon today will be about how God’s
peace starts now – not because everything is perfect, but because
He’s in control of everything and He is engaged in everything.
12:30 PM There will be no Fellowship Meal.
The blessings of the Sabbath draw to a close at 8:38 PM
and resume next Friday at 8:43 PM

Share Your Singing Talent
If you love to sing, if you love to praise the Lord with the gift of song, if you
love to be part of a fun and energized group of folks, the choir is the place
for you! Bring your sunny disposition, your voice and a willingness to be
part of a God-blessed music ministry. We have great plans in the works and
would love to have you be a part of it. Check the weekly calendar for our
next practice.
Prayer Chain Email Group
We are thrilled to have so many people requesting to be put on the Church’s
Prayer Chain email group. We know God answers prayer and the more
people praying, the more God works! To streamline the requests, we’re
asking that ALL prayer requests go through the church’s
email: [email protected] so we can consolidate the
requests. Please use Donna Griffith’s personal email for EMERGENCY
prayer requests only (ie: someone is enroute to the hospital, an accident just
happened, etc). Thank you!
Email Groups
Our church maintains several email lists which you may find helpful. There
are email lists for church announcements, member prayer requests, the
newsletter and the bulletin. If you are a church member and would like to be
included in any of these lists, please contact the church.
Dorcas Many in the community of Grants Pass are blessed with food and clothing
that is distributed from our center. Volunteers are needed to serve in the
operation of various stations. It would be greatly appreciated if you could
give of your time and /or to donate the following items: gloves, blankets,
tents and sleeping bags. We no longer need egg cartons. Please call Larry
Sample at 541-660-9088 for more information.
BLBN Prayer Team
Prayer warriors are invited to join Better Life’s newly formed Prayer Team.
We will be gathering on Wednesdays at 1:30pm at the station to earnestly
pray for the needs of the ministry of Better Life and our local community.
Church Calendar Scheduling
To avoid scheduling conflicts, please contact the church office when
planning an event or when you need to use a room in the church, the
sanctuary, or the Better Living Center. All activities, and especially those
other-than-the-normally-scheduled usages, must be put on the church
calendar. Thank you!
“LIKE” us on Facebook!
We have an active church page (“Grants Pass Seventh-day Adventist
Church”) that you can connect with yourself and also invite friends and
family to do as well! Just another way to keep informed and to share with
others in our community about our church!
Gladstone Camp Meeting Help Needed
Come be part of the team! Do you want to have a great time helping others
and being part of a team that feels like family? If so, consider volunteering
during camp meeting this year! We’re looking for hard working individuals
who want to serve God through service to others and who want to have fun
doing it! We need volunteers for Hispanic Camp Meeting (July 12-14) and
Gladstone Camp Meeting (July 17-21) in a variety of areas including
Hospitality, Shuttle Service, Safety and Security. We will also need licensed
RNs and EMTs/paramedics. Whether you can work one day, or all week,
we’d love to have you on our team! To volunteer, visit
http://volunteers.oregonconference.org or contact Lisa Rodriguez at
[email protected] or at 503-850-3350.
Light Bearer’s Camp Meeting
This year’s theme for the Light Bearer’s Camp Meeting will be: The Minor
Prophets—Major Salvation Promises in the Minor Prophets.
They are called the Minor Prophets because of their size, not their spiritual
depth. Hidden in these little books are found sublime pictures of God’s
unrelenting love. That’s why we plan to plumb their depths to mine rich
nuggets of God’s golden love that promises to keep our love alive in the
coming crisis. We warmly invite you to join Light Bearers and our speakers,
Ty Gibson, James Rafferty, David Asscherick, Jeffrey Rosario, Fred
Bischoff, Nathan Renner and Risë Rafferty for a Spirit-led journey that
promises to build hope, faith and love at our annual convocation July 3-7 in
Jasper, Oregon. For more information, please go to www.lightbearers.org, or
call 541-988-3333.
