SBA Executive Board Elections2013-14
As SBA President I will lead Santa Clara University School of Law with the grace, professionalism, and the organization and community outreach that is necessary to both maintain and enhance the reputation of Santa Clara Law in the legal community and promote student interests with the new Dean, faculty, staff and alumni.
As SBA President I will serve the SCU Law Community by aiming to increase leadership opportunities, professional relationships and ties to the legal community, and by ensuring that SCU Law students have a strong voice and unified presence in the upcoming transition of the new Dean.
A Unified Voice for the student body in the Dean Transition Period. I will meet weekly or bi-weekly with the new Dean, acting as the unified front and professional presence of the student body to ensure that student interests are appreciated and that the transition is accomplished with ease.
Leadership Opportunities. I will foster Law Student Organization (LSO) participation and also ensure that the new dean appreciates the value that we add to the SCU Law community.
Professional Relationships and ties with the Legal Community. I will create a new mentorship program for Santa Clara Law students with Alumni and faculty.
National Presence. I will build national leadership opportunities by representing SCU Law and building ties with Bay Area Associations, national graduate programs, and the American Bar Association.
Thank you, I appreciate the time you have taken to consider my plans for next year. I am excited at the prospect of serving and leading the Santa Clara Law community! As SBA Secretary this year I have accumulated knowledge of how the SBA and SCU Law works by attending all Council of Leaders meeting (CoL), SBA Board meetings, the ABA conference and feel confident and excited about implementing the new programs and events next year!

Candidate For SBA President
* Note- From Chris Glass & Kevin Song
We have decided to respectfully withdraw our candidacy for SBA President. We have a number of reasons for this decision. Among them is our desire to spend our last year focusing on our legal educations and employment prospects, but in addition to those we feel that Lila will do a great job. We like her ideas for the school moving forward and augmenting its national presence, and we have 100% confidence in her abilities to achieve those goals, with the help of next year's SBA team.
Of course, we will gladly fulfill the rest of our duties as Co-Vice Presidents, as was always the case, and we will be happy to help and support next year's board in any capacity we can. And, you all know we’ll make ourselves available as event-planning liaisons. Thank you all for your support.
Your friends,Chris Glass and Kevin Song

Candidates for Vice President of External Affairs
As your external vice presidents we would focus on encouraging new networking opportunities and expanding BALSA along with the national grad school alliance. This past year Becca served as the as the SBA part-time vice president and external VP for women & Law. Further Becca chaired the SBA community service committee where Kriti had a very active role. Kriti also spent this past year serving as one of the SBA 1L reps. Together we are committed to bringing new opportunities to Santa Clara Law and look forward to continuing to serve on the SBA exec board.

A vote for Law and Bahr is a vote for experience. SBA VP position calls for experience in three major categories: Event Planning, Leadership, and Ties with the SCU Law Community. Law and Bahr have experience in all three categories.(1) Event planning. In undergrad, Alex served as her sorority’s External Social Chair – coordinating large-scale events with hundreds of people. Alex has also gained experience in event planning through community service, including the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, where she currently serves as SCU Law School’s Team Captain. In undergrad, Lara was in charge of planning Freshman Orientation her last two years of university, where she led upperclassmen volunteers in a week-long event which helped facilitate arriving freshman transition to college life. Lara also organized the bi-annual school-wide community service events. After college, Lara was the field organizer for two national political campaigns - organizing hundreds of volunteers for voter outreach. She is currently organizing this year’s SCU Law Day of Service. (2) Leadership. Alex was President of two honors and leadership organizations in undergrad: Beta Gamma Sigma and Sigma Alpha Lambda. Alex has received recognition for her leadership with the “Pepsi Service and Leadership Scholarship” and the “Shane Osborn Student Leadership Award.” Lara was President of her undergrad Student Body Community Board as well as Captain of her collegiate Swim Team. This experience makes Lara and Alex ideal candidates for SBA Full Time Co-Vice President. (3) Ties with the SCU Law community.Alex has served as Internal Vice President of SCU’s Law and Business Club. She is also a member of several other organizations, including Women and Law and the Law School Golf Association. Lara is currently serving on several boards, including Women and Law, Law School Golf Association, Environmental Law, and SBA’s social and service committees. Alex and Lara have connections with a wide variety of students through Santa Clara Law - Alex is a 2L and Lara is a 1L. They are prepared and qualified to serve their fellow law students as SBA Full Time Co-Vice President.

SBA Executive Board Elections2013-14
Hey SCU Law community!
We are excited to announce that we’re running for positions as full-time SBA Co-Vice Presidents! Both of us have a passion for student leadership and have had an abundance of past experiences in planning orientation programs and a variety of social events. Jessica chaired several committees throughout her undergraduate career, was on the regional and national boards for one of the largest student-run organizations in the U.S. and was an event coordinator during her post-undergraduate career. Brittany assisted with recruitment and planned many large-scale events, such as junior-to-senior initiation, while in her undergraduate sorority. She also belonged to a team that trained over 700 fall orientation leaders and was on the executive board for Cal Poly’s summer orientation program.
As your Co-Vice Presidents, we would treasure the opportunity to enrich Santa Clara's ties amongst its student body. We also want to use the SBA Social Committee to boost SCU law pride, foster and encourage more student involvement, make students’ voices heard and improve 1L orientation to help our future classmates hit the ground running next Fall.
Some of our ideas include:• More holiday bar reviews• Increased student-SBA board communication to inquire upon the most desired school events • Create more opportunities for students to post about their weekend activities • Pair up with the SBA Community Service Committee for a joint event• Add more family-friendly events for the extended SCU Law community
We’re excited for the chance to bring our ideas to the SBA exec board next year and we appreciate your support!!!

Candidate for Secretary
It has been a privilege and a pleasure to serve as a 1L Class Representative, and as Co-Chair of the SBA Legislative Committee. Over the last few months the Legislative Committee has worked hard to prepare the recently submitted updates to the SBA Constitution and Bylaws, resulting in the creation of a number of exciting new executive board positions like our new external VP. I look forward to continuing this work as SBA Secretary, and to tackling other issues of importance to Santa Clara Law students. If there is anything I can do to be of service, please don't hesitate to ask! I have greatly enjoyed working on behalf of my class, and I am excited by this opportunity to work as an advocate for all Santa Clara Law students.-Henry J. Gage III

Candidate for Treasurer
I am Amanda Geary and I am running for SBA Treasurer. I have worked with financing large-scale youth sporting events and came from a science background where my love of numbers was honed and satisfied. I am an extremely organized, driven and efficient individual. In my first year of law school, I have been a Co-Chair for an SBA Sub-Committee, helped plan large law school events, and am the Secretary for the SBA Community Service Committee. I am excited to further the success of the SBA and help the students to further its relations between current students, future students, the administration and alumni.
