SERVICE & SUPPORT
EXPERIENCE
Our main strength is our customized development capabilities. Our team, consisting of members
from R&D to Technical Support, is assigned to assess a customer’s situation and provide quick
responses.
Ken Smith is the founder of the company and has over 30 years experience in manufacturing and
sales of inks and coatings. Ken has played an integral role in our EB / UV ink and coating
development projects.
The Greenpack team has a combined 120 years of experience in the graphic arts industry. The
entire Greenpack team, both in the field and in the plant, review any and all improvement
opportunities. The disciplined use of CNA’s (Customer Needs Analysis) allows them to focus in
on the critical elements of a problem and respond quickly to a customer’s needs.
CAPABILITIES
Our analytical laboratories, which are EPA compliant, allow us to thoroughly evaluate current
products, as well as measure the key elements of our own products. These facilities, as well as a
strong technical team, enable us to ensure consistent quality on a batch-to-batch basis, thus
producing state of the art inks and coatings for our customers.
RESPONSIVENESS
Our technical support team is based in Mooresville, North Carolina, and we have distribution
centers in the Northeast and Mid West. Arrangements have been made with back-up locations to
produce product immediately in the event of a catastrophe.
4
PARTNERING
We pride ourselves in working closely with our customers to ensure we are meeting their needs.
Our philosophy is to customize our product to the customer’s end use. We have recently worked
with a customer and developed the lowest odor and total migrant coating currently available
anywhere. This type of partnership gives our customers a definite edge in their own markets.
EB TECHNOLOGY/INNOVATION
Our primary focus is to provide the graphic arts industry with the cleanest, most stable inks and
coatings available on the market today. Our extensive research has resulted in the production of
a coating with extremely low total migrants as well as a stable coefficient of friction (COF).
This innovative coating formula enables our customers to reduce their make ready time, as well
as their spoilage, while allowing them to produce a more consistent finished product.
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
Continuous improvement and consistent high quality are a fundamental part of our culture and
our everyday business operations. We are ISO-9001 compliant and have instituted SQC and
SPC, together with a high degree of automation, to continually improve our systems, reduce
variation and eliminate reject and rework costs. We are continuously reducing our cost and
increasing our efficiencies which have enabled us to reduce our reject and rework costs to almost
0%. Our efforts to continuously improve products while reducing costs results in higher quality
and more innovative products, and lower costs for our customers.
5
RUTGERS UNIVERSITY
Rutgers University is a partner in our Research & Development process. Dr. Hartman is
currently acting as an advisor to our team and has thoroughly evaluated our products for
compliance with the FDA Standards. The manner in which coatings are applied leaves a
‘functional barrier’ between the coatings and the product. We can exceed the FDA’s
requirement for total migrants by using reverse side extractables.
We currently have the lowest migrants in the industry and are eager to share this technology with
partners. Through creative chemistry and continuous input from customers and industry experts,
we will be the leader in this technology.
TECHNICAL FACILITIES
We currently perform extractable testing, rub, gloss levels, PH, color management, cure,
viscosity, pencil hardness, cross hatch adhesion, as well as COF’s. We have an agreement with a
raw material supplier and ESI to perform EB cure testing for us. We also have access to Harper’s
laboratory, which is close to our own facility.
COMPUTERIZED MANUFACTURING
Our inks and coatings are manufactured with dedicated stainless steel equipment to prevent
contamination. The use of automation also enables us to closely control the batch production
process. We can assure our customers that their inks and coatings will be the cleanest and most
consistent on the market.
QUALITY & SAFETY
We ensure our customers requirements are up to date and reflect their current requirements
through the use of our CNA System (Customer Needs Analysis). We have procedures in place to
monitor incoming raw material inspection, qualify our suppliers, perform in process and finished
product inspections, as well as audit each area defined in the standard.
6
CUSTOMER SPECIFICATIONS
With our experience in the industry, we can help our customers define and establish their own
internal specifications. We will analyze their requirements and help them set operational
windows for their full range of specs. Coat weights are measured and compared for each unit,
and the condition of the anilox rolls and cylinders is also reviewed.
CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
In order to objectively measure customer satisfaction, we use and review information provided
by “On Time Delivery”, “Customer Complaint”, and “Corrective Action Review” systems
already in place.
PREVENTATIVE ACTION SYSTEM
Our record for top performance in quality and cost management is excellent. We are fully
confident that we can meet all of our customers ink and coating requirements and needs. Our
existing preventative action system will help us identify any improvement opportunities.
BUSINESS STRATEGY
Our goal is to be a leader in low odor ink and coating technology and a primary supplier to the
beverage, folding carton, gift wrap, and flexible packaging industries. We will continue to
supply EB and UV coatings along with Aqueous inks and coatings as well as state of the art
green cleaning supplies to help our customers maximize press performance and reduce costs.
Our technical development team’s research efforts will continue to be customer-driven to
improve existing products and explore new technologies to meet future requirements.
Our goal is to partner with our customers, so that we can both stay
“Always A Step Ahead”!
