GRENZEBACH Intelligent Additive Manufacturing
Additive Manufacturing ready for serial productionThe beginning of a new era: Components made from metal and plastic are produced with 3D print for a growing number of industries.
We optimally coordinate your process chain. Your advantage: The equipment is used at optimum capacity.
With 3D prints mostly used for prototypes or small series until
now, companies are increasingly taking advantage of industrial
additive manufacturing for serial production:
» Additive manufacturing processes allow for
production of complex components in one production
step which previously had to be assembled from
several individual components.
» Producing certain components is only possible with
additive manufacturing.
The challenge of additive manufacturing is the extensive
production time of a component in the printer while up- and
downstream production steps do have significantly shorter
processing times. In addition, any potential health risks for
employees must be kept at minimum level and safety
regulations have to be observed. Efficient and safe serial
production requires intelligent automation and networking -
from transport, for example under inert atmosphere, to the
removal of finished parts.
Grenzebach develops customized automation solutions from
planning to manufacturing and commissioning since 1960.
Grenzebach is a globally trusted partner due to the long-
standing experience as well as the continuous improvement

Automation with Grenzebach equipment
Flexible automation due to Automated Guided Vehicles
Intelligent organization of handling and material flow in 3D printing: We provide equipment tailored to your specific needs.
Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) from Grenzebach stand for reliable operation and total safety of man and machine.
Flexibility of sequences can be sustainably increased with
Automated Guided Vehicles. Our AGVs move autonomously
and are highly available. Stationary, mobile - plus robotics:
The combination of all disciplines exactly generates the
solution you need for your industrial 3D printing process.
» Different navigation options
» Individual superstructures
» Load carriers
» Material handling
» Variable energy concepts
Robots can undertake a variety of tasks - from gripping individual components to
the removal of build plates to the inspection of the produced parts. We cover the
whole range from stand-alone solutions to the 7th axis and integrate robots from
different manufacturers.
Depending on the tasks of the process, permanently installed conveyor lines or
Automated Guided Vehicles can be deployed. Material can be delivered just in time.
Components can be transported individually or in a reusable frame.
Horizontal and vertical communication linking all process stations allows for
smooth processes. The entire process of 3D printing, including up- and down-
stream sectors, is digitally displayed and controllable.
We inspect the quality of produced components directly within the process chain
through 2D/3D image processing systems. This is possible both inline within the
conveying path or through robotically controlled inspection systems.
We develop, engineer and manufacture load locks or extensions for existing
equipment to allow for an efficient and safe automated process.

With SERICY Grenzebach offers an IIoT platform based on
a highly flexible micro services architecture. The modular
platform includes apps preconfigured for mechanical
engineering that enables the digitization of your industrial
3D printing process within no time.
As a result, you are able to control, monitor and optimize your
production in a transparent and reliable way while your devel-
opers can fully focus on their core process. If desired, you can
additionally use a development environment to adapt existing
software modules independently and specifically for your needs
or to develop further ones from scratch. Thus, your data and
know-how remain safe and secure with you.
» SERICY brings the process data of all machines
together to use in all departments within the company.
» SERICY links the historical information system of the
company by using standardized interfaces.
» SERICY contains reusable micro services that can
be adapted quickly and easily for customer specific
automation solutions.
» SERICY can be used on-premise, in a private cloud or
cloud and is arbitrarily scalable due to its architecture.
