About
us
Kebun Kumara is a learning
farm dedicated to helping
urban dwellers achieve a
sustainable lifestyle.
We provide nature learning
activities for all ages because
we believe that only by
reconnecting with nature
can we truly nurture it.
“To forget how to dig the earth and
to tend the soil is to forget ourselves.” (Mahatma Gandhi)
The city life is colored by a modernity that
pervasively detaches us from nature.
From toddlers to adults, we spend most of our time
indoors with gadgets as companions. We are also
becoming dangerously consumptive, seeking instant
gratification and always in need of more and more.
The urban life makes it hard to realize that our
everyday decisions have overarching impacts.
We are interconnected with nature. So, where is the
nature-love?
The Dilemma
Of City life
knowing
vs realizing
We are all familiar with the various
ecological issues our world faces – climate
change, deforestation, plastic pollution,
pesticide over-use and many more.
We too are familiar that our modern life
strongly contributes to these conditions.
How can we translate our awareness into
empathy and action? How can we be part
of the solution?
Growing fresh food at home and
composting our waste are simple,
everyday habits that we all can do to
nurture nature from home.
It is time we live more sustainably
and carry out our roles within the
web of ecological relationships.
Naturally, it is time we truly
reconnect with Mother Nature.
