Big Data: Hadoop Solutions | Increase insights and agility with a Dell big data solution
Increase insight and agility…to transform research potential and improve lives
ASU needed to boost the flexibility and scale of its HPC cluster to expand multidisciplinary collaboration and support increasingly complex research models in genomics and other fields.
To support big data analysis, engineers deployed Dell PowerEdge R720xd servers running CDH. Another part of the cluster provides HPC capabilities via Dell PowerEdge M620 servers. To boost transactional speeds, engineers added Dell PowerEdge M420 servers plus 2 petabytes of cluster storage via Dell Compellent arrays. All of the servers feature Intel® Xeon® processors. To accelerate overall cluster performance, engineers connected servers with Dell Networking S4810 switches—and used 40GbE Dell Networking Z9000 switches for the cluster’s core.
