The HIAB 2222 ATF is the crane of choice for militaryWrecker / Recovery vehicles and other high capacityapplications with a lifting capacity of 20 tonnes-meters.
This is the latest member of the Hiab Family of AirTransportable Cranes (FATC) and has been developedagainst a number of international Armed Forces projects.
The HIAB 2222 ATF is designed to assist chassismanufacturers to achieve a low signature vehicle and atthe same time have an optimised lifting geometry forvarious applications. Therefore Hiab developed a foldingcolumn, low in transport mode and an excellent geometryfor lifting requirements.
The HIAB 2222 ATF-1 and ATF-2 cranes can have theoption to be provided with the ultimate user-friendly CraneTip Control (CTC) operator system. By using only one (1)lever the robotic crane control system calculates whichcylinders have to be operated for a true vertical andhorizontal movement of the crane lift hook, and thereforeobviates the need for a crane hoist.
CTC also provides automatic parking and unfolding of thecrane by operating one (1) lever. Many users highlyappreciate this feature for crane operations in stressfulcircumstances.
Back up crane control is provided at the manual leverstation and full functionality is available with hydraulicpower only. A manual pump is furnished to enable craneoperation in the event of complete prime mover failure.
The HIAB 2222 ATF is available with one (1) , two (2) orthree (3) hydraulic extensions for a respective maximumoutreach of 5.5, 7.0 or 8.4 m.
The Hiab FATC includes other variants from 75 to 149 kNm capacities.
