What exactly is good communication?
The exchange or flow of information, ideas and thoughts from one person to another or from
one end to the other is communication. According to McFarland, Communication is, “a process
of meaningful interaction among human beings. More specifically, it is the process by which
meanings are perceived and understandings are reached among human beings.”
What Are the Benefits of Effective Communication in a Workplace?
Effective verbal and nonverbal communication skills are valuable in any workplace. Some
companies spend a lot of money to train their employees on how to communicate effectively.
Good communication skills go beyond conversations, and employees must know how to
communicate well through written reports and emails. Understanding the benefits of effective
communication helps companies focus on developing a workforce that is able to communicate
well within the firm as well as with customers, vendors and international business partners.
