August 17th, 2015Weekly Homework Read at least 20 minutes every night.
Reading logs are due April 18th. Please make sure your child’s first and last name is on the log. Please note the new format of the reading log! Students need to complete a summary and have a parent initial each night!!
Math: Please complete 20 minutes of First in Math nightly!
Reading: Please write a 2-3 complete sentences summary of your nightly reading!
Book Clubs: Please check your child’s book bag for book club homework. It varies per book club. Please remind your child to bring his or her materials daily for book club.

This week in: Word Study: we will study prefixesMentor Sentence: descriptive language Language Arts Skills- we will study reflexive pronouns (himself, herself, ourselves, etc) Reading Workshop- we will begin unit of study on comparing and contrasting two texts using fiction and non fiction textsWriting Workshop- We will be working on opinion writing focusing on opening, body, and closing. Math Workshop- continue measurement unit: measuring objects using centimeters, inches, yards, and meters. We will also being line plots using measurement dataScience- We start unit of study on forces, push, pull, motion, etc TAG- we will be working on Maker Space and Wixie presentation heat and light
