The IQAC is playing a greater role in congregating the institutional efforts for ensuring an all-
encompassing quality culture in the Institution. IQAC have contributed a lot in channelizing the
efforts of different departments and sections towards excellence. I am glad to see various initiatives
taken recently regarding Industry-academia alliance where Building Industrial Technical Solution
(BITS) and Centre for Building Skills and Employability (CBSE) have contributed by strengthening the
skills of students through consultancy projects and training programs. I appreciate the entire CCPD team for
putting their sincere efforts in facilitating the placement process resulting in more than 90% students getting
placed in MNCs offering handsome packages. I congratulate the department of computer science engineering and
the department of electronics and communication engineering for getting their UG programme re-accredited, by
National board of Accreditation, valid till 30 June 2022.

Dean Academics Message
Academic Audits being carried out by IQAC have given valuable feed-back on the effectiveness and
efficiency of various academic processes. It is heartening to note that the observations from these
audits are being utilized for institutional improvement. With an active role played by IQAC, variety of
quality assurance processes are institutionalized focusing around teacher quality, curriculum delivery
and pedagogy, research and training, skill development of students, orientation programmes for overall
personality development and broad range of activities which equip the students to face challenges. Also, as most
of the checklists designed by IQAC are based upon meeting the external audit and accreditation requirements, the
audit exercises undertaken by it have played a central role in preparation for future Quality Certifications.
-Prof. (Dr.) Gajendra Singh

About First Year Result
For eight consecutive semesters the institute has maintained a clear pass percentage well above 90% and seized a position for itself
as the Top-Ranking college amongst all the colleges affiliated to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. In the previous
semester (Even Semester, 2018-19) the clear pass percentage was 94.93% and a respectable GAIA (Gross Average Intellectual
Attainment) of 43.35 (61.92%), making ABESEC, yet again, the top-ranking institution in the university. Such consistency in results
is an outcome of certain best practices that has been an integral part of the AS&H departmental working process. Formation of
Special Sections for Academically Needy Students, Bright Student Cell and the Counselling Cell provide the required leverage to the
students which is reflected positively in the results of the institute.

BITS – Building Industrial Technical Solution
Over the last decade it has clearly been established that engineering education, in its current form, is able to
contribute to development of an engineer to a limited extent. Technical institutions are able to develop the
conceptual knowledge, but are lagging hugely in terms of application of the knowledge to solve real problems.
This is a dilemma; engineers are expected to solve problems and they are not able to apply conceptual
knowledge to solve problems.
At BITS we are trying to address this challenge through creating an atmosphere wherein institute integrates with
industry, understand the issues faced by the industry and then come back to work with teams of experts, faculty
and engineering students.
This approach has lead to an optimized cost effective and engineering based solution on one hand and on the
other; the approach also helped in enhancement of skill-sets of faculty and students involved. Yet, the real
strength of the initiative lies in the journey itself. The toiling, the failures and the rising-again cycles, each has a
place in the development of a student into a professional. Further the group formation process also provides for
social bonding under pressure, conflicts resolution and much more. The taste of ultimate success as a team,
imbibes an attitude of patience, endurance, hard-work and above all that an attitude of teams first. This grind will
help the budding engineers become team players with practical skills and ability to apply knowledge in combined
efforts.
We are working in this direction, to blur the lines between industry and academia, through gaining trust of
industry and aiming to be their partner of choice. BITS is a work in progress.

Center for Building Skills & Employability (CBSE)
The year 2019 has witnessed a great technical revolution in ABES Engineering College. This revolution was
created by CBSE Department, the Skill Building Department of ABESEC in the year of 2015. Since then CBSE
has been strengthening the skills of students every moment. During the beginning of this year 2019, CBSE
department brought all the engineering departments at one common platform and planned career paths
for each students. The achievements of CBSE Department are as follows:
1. In the month of January 2019, CBSE department launched many skill building programs under its
campaign of Winter Skill Building Training Program. More than 100 students of 2nd and 3 year of B.Tech
and MCA joined the program.
2. The major attraction of Winter Skill Building Training Program was, practical implementation through
Project Based Training, where many students from outside college also joined the program.
3. As an outcome of such skill building program, the paid internship to 17 students from 3rd year were
offered.
4. First time in history of ABESEC, 21 students of first year got paid internship, which was arranged by CBSE
Department.
5. In association with EN Department, CBSE department was able to do the Skill Building Mapping of each
student and crafted many programs for them to horn their skills. More than 70 students from EN,
enrolled for the same.
6. This summer CBSE Department created another history by imparting the Summer Internship program
for 1010 students of B.Tech 1st year. This program ensured the skill enhancement of all the students on
foundation skills of core and IT branch.
7. Another Summer Internship for Final year students was delivered where around another 100 students
participated and acquired the appropriate skills for Job.
These achievements were only possible because of unconditional support of all the departments and with
the same spirit now CBSE Department is ready to further impart the skill building training to all the 2nd year
students on various programming languages like Python and JAVA. The only objective of CBSE department
is to ensure the quality placement of all the students and make them employable according to the industry
expectation.
