Q&A session

Data-intensive products and services raise questions about the values embedded in them. These values shape how information is processed to profile and classify individuals and groups.Collective issues concerning ethical and social impact of data use must therefore be adequately addressed in designing tools that support ethical reflection and self-assessment for developers of connected products. From this perspective, societal consequences should be assessed using open and participatory solutions. In fact, engaging with designers and developers of IoT products and services at the point of design makes it possible to embed ethical considerations in a collaborative way without undermining necessary regulations.
