Daily News100 Years of JCI History Culminated during
the Final Day of the 2015 JCI World Congress
The 2015 JCI World Congress culminated by celebrating not only a historical year of events,
but also the past 100 years of impact. The spectacular celebrations honoring the 100th
Anniversary of the JCI Movement brought inspiration to all who attended to continue united
all sectors of society to create sustainable impact. On the final day of Congress, delegates
filled the Ishikawa Industrial Exhibition Center to witness the passing of the Congress flag
from Kanazawa to Quebec, as well as the passing of the presidential chain from 2015 JCI
President Ismail Haznedar to 2016 President Elect Paschal Dike. The ceremony concluded
as 100th Anniversary Chairperson Jennifer Gracey led both President Haznedar and
President Elect Dike in filling the 100th Anniversary Time Capsule with memorable items from
the historical year as well as messages from the delegates for the future generation of active
citizens. Following, the audience sang along to “Happy Birthday” as champagne flowed
down a celebratory champagne tower illuminated in JCI Aqua. After such a momentous
week, delegates returned home with new skills and tools to create a more sustainable and
peaceful world.

UniteThe newly elected 2016 JCI Board of Directors united at
their first meeting as leaders of the organization to review
their responsibilities for the year ahead and how they can
create positive change in communities worldwide.
CommemorateThroughout the Congress, delegates wrote messages to
be placed in the JCI 100th Anniversary Time Capsule for
the future generation of young active citizens along with a
variety of other items to celebrate 100 years of impact.
