Fire Chiefs,
July is most commonly associated with Independence Day, summer vacations, and
spending time outdoors. In the fire service, it’s all about July 4th, in relation to fire
prevention and fireworks safety. As such, this monthly report contains a “Spotlight
Data” page dedicated to July 4th fire incidents and related trends.
We’ve also added a new section that details significant fires for the month. These
fires incurred more than $100,000 in estimated property and contents loss.
We’ve received a good bit of feedback on this report, and encourage more as we
continually improve the format to better serve your needs.
Thank you for your continued participation,

TOP 10 TOTAL PROPERTY/CONTENTS SAVED
Property/Contents Saved is calculated by subtracting the Property/Contents Loss from the Pre-
Incident Value.
Property and Contents lost values are estimates only and are intended only to provide an idea of
how much damage the fire caused and what it would cost to replace the damaged materials.
These estimates are not recognized in court as official appraisals of value.
The Property and Contents fields should be completed for every fire incident type (100 series).
