WELCOME TO OUR SUMMER PROGRAM!!
The mission of Dover Recreation’s Summer Supervised Playground Program is to provide for the social, mental and physical growth of our children of Dover through a variety of activities and trips.
We are pleased to present this brochure to serve as a guide for your summer planning.
SUMMER SUPERVISED PLAYGROUND PROGRAM The Summer Program will be held at Water Works Park,100 Princeton Avenue, Dover for chil-dren ages 5 thru 15 years old. Registration for Dover, Mine Hill & Victory Gardens Residents only. Applications will be accepted for registration starting May 1st, Monday thru Friday from 9:00am to 3:00pm and extended hours on Monday, May 23rd & Tuesday, May 31st from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the Recreation Office/DPW Building located at 37 N. Sussex Street, Dover. For more information and to
download registration forms, please see the Town of Dover website at www.dover.nj.us . Applications are located under the Form Center on the left side of the Town of Dover home page under Recreation, Recreation
Dept. and Town Hall. A copy of child's birth certificate must accompany application along with proof of ad-dress, a valid drivers license and photo ID of parents and/or any relative or friend picking up your child for security measures.
Fee: $275.00/child for the 7-week program if you register before May 31st— that’s a $50
savings! Starting June 1st, registration fee is $325 and $300 for each additional child—a $25 sav-ings! Visitor/Relative fee is $20 per day. Drop off begins at 8:15am and pick up is no later than 4:45pm. An additional charge of $25.00 will be levied to each family who has not picked up their child by 4:45pm.
The Summer Program begins on Monday, June 27, 2016 and will end on Friday, August 12, 2016. TRIPS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE REGISTRATION FEE.

“ON YOUR MARK..GET SET...READ” at the Dover Public Library Summer Reading will start on July 5th thru September 2nd
This year, the Summer Reading theme will be “”On Your Mark...Get Set...READ”. All ages are invited to
come to the Dover Free Public Library for games, health and fitness activities. We will have many special
events and programs including Kid’s Art Academy, a Princess Party, Growing Your Own with the Master Gar-
deners, Drop-In Crafts, LEGO Club, Spanish Story Time, movies in English and Spanish and more!! Teens
and Adults who register for the summer reading program may enter raffles to win a Kindle Fire!
Read for fun and prizes all summer long at the Dover Public Library!

**SUMMER SUPERVISED PLAYGROUND POLICIES** Our Summer Supervised Playground Program is NOT a Day Camp. However, children
may leave the program after arrival ONLY with parent/guardian and presentation of proper identifi-
cation. When dropping off your child with Summer Park Staff you will be required to sign them in
at drop off and sign them out at pickup.
If trip starts later in the morning, please check with the counselors the day before to see if
the park will open at 8:30am or drop children off fifteen minutes before the bus leaves from Cres-
cent Field Parking Lot B.
Electronic games must be left at home. If electronic games are brought to camp, children
will not be allowed to use them. They will be confiscated and returned at the end of the day to the
parent/guardian. The Town of Dover will not be responsible for them if they are lost or stolen.
Please be advised that the Town of Dover Summer Program closes promptly at 4:30pm
sharp. Late pickup for any reason will result in an additional charge of $25.00 to the family who
has not picked up their child by 4:45pm. Dover Recreation will not tolerate any insubordinate or
inappropriate behavior in the parks or on trips. Any such behavior could result in dismissal from
the summer program. No refunds will be given to those expelled from program or trips.
“BUS TRIP POLICY”
There are only a limited number of buses for each trip. Seating is done on a first come, first serve
basis; paid reservations only. Permission slips must be filled out by parent/guardian. If raining on
day of trip (which includes outside activities), most trips are scheduled for the following day.
Counselors will call you if the trip is postponed. PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE RECREATION
OFFICE. Seventy-two (72) hours notice is required for refund requests (rain date not included).
Information sheets, permission slips, & deadlines for trips are given at time of registration.
