Year 6 Leaders Remembrance Day
Principals ReportWeek 5 is here which means the half way mark for Term 4, 2019! This week we are looking forward to 1/2 JG present their assembly and we welcome ex-students Paige and Emilie to school for their work experience. School Closure(temporary) Tuesday - November 12th As you may be aware, there is currently a predicted emergency situation in our community involving Catastrophic Fire Danger warning issued by RFS which is now extended to Illawarra/Shoalhaven area. To ensure the safety of students and staff, a precautionary decision has been made by Department of Education that our school will not be operating on TUESDAY 12th November. As the school is identified as bush fire prone, this is part of our Emergency Management Plan. There will be no staff on site today. Please ensure that you put supervision arrangements in place for your child today. The school will recommence operations on Wednesday 13th November unless other advice is issued.KV Cheesemakers What a great time our Year 5/6 students had last Wednesday learning how to make butter, ricotta and labnah cheese. It was a great way to hopefully inspire our students to enter some of their own cheese/ dairy products in next year’s KV Show. Thank you KV Cheesemakers.Art and Craft with CMRI Thanks to the CMRI volunteers who have helped our students create some great arts and craft to decorate the KV show pavilion for next year’s show. Great sewing skills on display. Keep an eye out for them in the pavilion at the show. Andrew Smee - Principal

Cheese Pleases
Last week Valley Cheesemakers, Rosie & Kathy, had the fun of running a cheese workshop for the year 5/6 students. With the limited time available we introduced them to basic home cooking skills by making butter, ricotta, labnah balls and club
cheese (very colourful indeed!).
With this new knowledge we hope parents will encourage their children to make a junior entry in the cheese and dairy section in the next KV show scheduled for February. It’s the opportunity for a
great learning experience and since we have open judging they can hear directly from our judge what
she thinks of their product.

Kids Art on Cards and Calendars, Diaries and Sketchbooks
Mrs Delmenico has finished helping the children with their artistic creations to go onto printed Cards/Calendar/Diary/Sketchbooks for parents to
purchase. This is a small fundraiser for the P & C, but it also gives parents a chance to keep and share some of their child’s art in a quality printed
format.
The Diaries and Sketchbooks make great Christmas presents. The Cards are blank inside so make a perfect personal artistic Thankyou or gift for
any occasion. And a Calendar on the wall with your child’s artwork is a gorgeous year round feature.
The children are finishing their pictures this week and their artwork will be available in the office for parental viewing from Wednesday 6th Nov
. The office also have an example of each item so you can see the quality and finish of the product you will be buying. Order forms will be sent
home with the kids. Orders will need to be in by Friday 15th November.
You can order as many items as you wish from the one artwork.
Your own photo can also be printed onto the same range of items.
A digital photo can be submitted on-line and any of the above items made from this image.
