It is SO important for your child to be at school every day! We learn and introduce new things each day. If your child needs to be gone, please call the office.

Homework Your child will soon have a RED homework folder that will come home Monday through Thursday. Inside will be things for you to practice at home. There will be sight words, little paper books, alphabet practice, and a hundreds chart. Sometimes I will include some math items that your child may need extra practice with.
Library Books
• Starting next week your child will be checking out a library book • Our library day is Wednesday • Return the book every Wednesday or before • Teach your child to place their book in a safe place at home
Technology • We use computers in the computer lab • We use iPads in our classroom
• We use them in 15 minute increments • They are used for reading, math, and handwriting
• SMART Board and Document camera
Snack
• Please LABEL your child’s snack with their name • Pack their snack in their backpack,
SEPARATE from their lunch • We will be using a snack bin to reduce backpack and lunchbox shuffling
Allergies We have some children with allergies which will affect what we bring in when have classroom celebrations or activities with food. • We have 2 gluten/wheat allergies • We have 1 dairy allergy • We have 2 banana allergies • We have 1 pecan allergy
PE—We have PE Mon/Wed with Mr. Phillips • Please make sure your child wears comfortable shoes

Birthdays Birthdays are special and we are happy to celebrate. The office suggests that if you bring a treat, to keep it healthy. If you want to bring cupcakes, you may, but please bring the small ones. The regular sized are too big and messy. *We have many allergies
Volunteers I welcome any of you to volunteer in our classroom. You can come regularly, when your schedule permits, during class celebrations, and/or field trips. • You need to fill out the online background check to volunteer!
• Turn in the volunteer form with your preferred times and I will send out a volunteer schedule. Volunteers will start in a few weeks.
• I need volunteers:
• Monday- Friday from 8:30 to 9:45 • Monday- Friday from 10:15-11:15 • I will also have at-home jobs (cutting or
preparing a project)
