The Kings Local Board of Education held their May Board meeting on Tuesday, June 17,
20, 2014, 6:30 p.m. at Kings Education Center, Conference Room 2.

14-111 Treasurer Tempore
Mr. Russell made a motion, seconded by Mr. Hinman to designate Mr.
Overturf as Treasurer Tempore for this meeting to keep record of the actions
taken by the Board for the remainder of the meeting.

One Year Limited Teaching Contract – Rachel Bae
Approve a one year limited part-time (60%) teaching contract for Rachel
Bae, effective 8-15-14. Rachel will be hired with a Master’s degree at step
“0” of the salary schedule. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory
completion of paperwork.

One Year Limited Teaching Contract – Jonathan Bitzer
Approve a one year limited teaching contract for Jonathan Bitzer, effective
8-15-14. Jonathan will be hired with a Bachelor’s degree (+150) at step “4”
of the salary schedule. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory
completion of paperwork.
One Year Limited Teaching Contract – Brittany Casseday
Approve a one year limited teaching contract for Brittany Casseday, effective
8-15-14. Brittany will be hired with a Bachelor’s degree at step “4” of the
salary schedule. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of
paperwork.
Administrative Contract – Matt Freeman – Curriculum Specialist
Approve a 2 year administrative contract for Matt Freeman as Curriculum
Specialist, effective 8-1-14 thru 7-31-16. Matt will be paid on step “6”of the
salary schedule. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of
paperwork.
Reduction in Hours – Elisabeth Howcroft
Approve a reduction in hours for Elisabeth Howcroft, as guidance counselor,
from full-time to 24 hours per week, effective with the 2014-2015 school year.
Increase in Hours – Kathy Lundy
Approve an increase in hours for Kathy Lundy, as custodian, from 4 hours
per day to 8 hours per day, effective 7-1-14. Kathy will remain at her
current rate of pay.
Reassignment – Cristia Weisbrod
Approve the reassignment of Cristia Weisbrod from childcare aide to data
specialist/EMIS, effective 8/4/14. Cristia will be full time and will be paid on
step “0” of the salary schedule.
One Year Limited Teaching Contract – Katie Wright
Approve a one year limited teaching contract for Katie Wright, effective 8-
15-14. Katie will be hired with a Master’s Degree at step “8” of the salary
schedule. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of
paperwork.
Maternity /FMLA Leave – Rebecca Hopewell

Approve maternity/FMLA leave for Rebecca Hopewell, effective
approximately 11-15-14 (maternity) for approximately 6-8 weeks. After that
time, Rebecca will then use FMLA with an approximate return date of 1-20-
15 or when released from her physician’s care.
Summer Special Needs Assistant – Katie Boehm
Approve Katie Boehm as summer special needs assistant, effective 6-10-14
thru 8-8-14. She will be paid $13.80 per hour and will work 24 hours per
week. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of paperwork.
Summer Substitute Childcare Aide – Kristin Yonkofski
Approve Kristin Yonkofski as summer substitute childcare aide, effective 6-
16-14. She will be paid $10.00 per hour.

Approve a stipend for Frank Honthy as Content Coordinator in the area of
physical education for the 2013-2014 school year.
Stipend – Tim Hicks – Credit Recovery (Replacing Mike San Marco)
Approve stipend for Tim Hicks (replacing Mike San Marco), effective 6-9-14
thru 6-27-14 and 7-7-14 thru 7-25-14 for 10 hours per week at $25.00 per
hour. He will also be paid $25.00 per hour for 2 hours per week, effective 6-
30-14 thru 7-4-14 and 7-28-14 thru 8-15-14, for continued grading and off-
site consultation for students who are still completing summer credit
recovery work.
Stipend – LPDC Committee Members – 2013-2014 School Year
Approve the following teachers for stipends as LPDC Committee Members
for the 2013-2014 school year.

Approve the extended field trip form for the KHS Chamber Choir to travel
to Cincinnati and St. Louis, 2-26-15 thru 2-28-15. The students will be shown
first-hand what types of musical opportunities are available to them after
high school, working with university professors, performing outside Kings,
etc.

14-116 Special Board Meeting
Mrs. Baker-Hicks made a motion, seconded by Mr. Hinman to schedule a Special
Board meeting for Friday, June 20, 2014 at 4:00 P.M. in Conference Room 1 of the
Kings Education Center for the purpose of interviewing Interim Superintendent
candidates and possibly taking action to appoint an Interim Superintendent subject
to agreeing to contract terms. In addition, the Board may consider any other
matters that may come before the Board.

Mrs. Baker-Hicks made a motion, seconded by Mr. Hinman to schedule a Special
Board meeting for Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 5:30 P.M. in Conference Room 2 of the
Kings Education Center for the purpose of approving a contract to hire an Interim
Superintendent. The Board may also consider taking action to hire a High School
Principal and/or a Junior High School Principal, together with any other matters
that may come before the Board.
