Pink Day T-Shirt Sales at Humewood!
Wednesday, April 12th is the Day of Pink, a day when communities across Canada unite in celebrating
diversity and raising awareness to stop homophobia, transphobia, gender-based discrimination, and all
forms of bullying.
This year, The REACH wants to make sure that everyone has something to wear for this important
occasion. Each day next week, we will be selling a t-shirt designed by two of our very own students!
You can come submit your order in the back hallway before school (8:30 – 8:45 am), during the lunch
hour, and after school (3:45 – 4:15 pm), or you can drop off your order form and payment to the office.
The bilingual t-shirts will be printed on Gildan pink cotton, and are being sold for $15 each. Proceeds
from the sale of the shirts will go to the Canadian Centre for Gender & Sexual Diversity, a registered
charity that works to promote a discrimination-free and diverse nation through advocacy, research,
education, and scholarships. Go to http://ccgsd-ccdgs.org to find out more about CCGSD and the great
work they’re doing.
Cash and cheques (addressed to Humewood Community School) will be accepted. All orders must be
received by March 31st so shirts can be delivered in time for the Day of Pink.
Thank you for your support of this important initiative!
