BONUS: Apple Pie!
HALLOWEENThis year we partied down the shore in Belmar with Krista and Will. I love the Jersey Shore off-season and being around the locals.BONUS: Krista and Will won a prize in the costume contest... a black chopper bicycle with Miller Light logos all over it. RAD.
SLUTTY PIKACHU! We were kinda obsessed. Krista and I heard her in the bathroom, talking about how she didn’t even know what Pikachu was, that her boyfriend made her wear the costume.
DRINKING! As soon as Glenn
ordered us tequila shots that came
in dixie cups, I switched to lite
beer. Glenn and Will weren’t so lucky.

Halloween Mood BoardThis year I dressed up as Minnie Mouse purely because I had all the clothes already. The only thing I was missing was the ears, and I had my heart set on recreating the
Maison Michel mouse ears in lace. I ended up not having enough time to buy supplies, so how happy was I when I found them at Target??!
Nothing is better than Peanuts for getting you in the holiday spirit. This year I bought us the Peanuts Holiday box set, so we aren’t a slave to the TV schedule.
1
2 I bought Pet Cemetery a while back,
but finally got around to reading it. I hadn’t realized that I had only seen Pet Cemetary 2... we watched the original on Halloween. Not as good as the book!

The entrance.
I love Ryan and Amy’s taste and how their house reflects that. I also love this flo-thru fireplace

Cute! On their wedding day last year.
Will and Krista, the next morning.
Ryan and Amy are such great hosts! Let me count the ways...1 HOMEMADE PIZZA! These two have been mak-ing pizza (grilled or otherwise) for years, and they have it DOWN. So yummy! After a drive from NYC (with no snacks), it was the perfect thing to arrive to.
2 THEIR SUPER CUTE AND COZY HOUSE! They have made a seriously adorable home with their great taste in modern furniture and art. Maybe I’ve been in New York for too long, but when we were taking the tour, it was like room after room after room after walk-in closet, after room after room... jealous!
3 DOGGIES! I never really thought about grey-hounds, but after meeting their rescued dogs, Meghan and Charlie, I am a convert. I love them! They are sweet and lovey and gentle. Plus, Charlie does something called a “dude-sit”. No more convincing needed.
4 TINY PUMPKINS! Oh, don’t even get me started. I have a slight obsession with tiny pumpkins (SO. CUTE.) and they took us to a local apple orchard, where I got to stare into huge bins of tiny pumpkins and take way too long to pick one out. (by one, I mean five)
5 TREE HOUSE! A REAL tree house! I was too chicken to go in it, though. wah-wah. As much as I would like to be in a tree house, I am that much afraid of rope ladders. I think I had a bad experience in my childhood that I’ve repressed.
Thank you again, guys!

This is the view I woke up to.

FALL ACCESSORIESLast week it felt like we were in the middle of an Indian summer and then suddenly, overnight, it’s fall! Ready or not, it’s time to start pulling together the extras for the season. Let’s revisit the Fall 2010 shows for inspiration.
HEADBANDThe iconic cold-weather headbands at Prada are
perfect, with or without the beehive
PRADA
SOCKSAn evolution of the whole socks + heels trend, that’s a little more palatable. Pair warm socks with embellished boots and a dress.

THE POMMy small tribute to the amazing pom pom headbands at Sonia Rykiel. So graphic, striking and festive.

LEOPARD SCARFI have a feeling this is going to be everywhere (or... is it already everywhere??), but I love it still. It dresses up a simple coat, and it is super warm. Plus, there is only one way to “tie” this scarf, which adds to the appeal.

Where to Buy
A yearly necessity, this season I went for one with a brim, to keep the snow out of my eyes. I know it’s hard to think of snow being a reality, but it’s gonna happen...

THE END
This photo was taken at about 9pm, on an island off the coast of Africa, in early June. We had spent the whole day
driving, looking at volcanos and deserted beaches. We went back to the hotel and Glenn poured himself a glass of Rosé and I had a glass of red. Then we sat in our robes and drew in our sketchbooks. Glenn probably smoked a cigarette.
(see you next week! or maybe in a few days...)
