PRE-CON - CHAIR YOGA

Just released in 2013 Chair Yoga is the newest module under the
Bender Method of Training Education series. This program is for
everyone, any age and any fitness level. This very gentle form of
Yoga is excellent for people with various types of movement
disorders and is easily incorporated into an active older adult
setting. Using a chair and Bender Ball as a prop, the health
benefits of this program are endless – reduced blood pressure,
better sleep, improved mobility, movement and posture, and
increased stamina to make everyday tasks easier. All aspects of
Yoga – postures, pranayama (breath), meditation and relaxation
can be done using the chair complemented with the Bender Ball.
This special population can find comfort using the chair as an aide –
helping to reduce fear of falling – thus reducing anxiety and stress.
Leave with a variety of poses that you can start using with your
clients right away!

Core Fit is an amazing workout that will fire your core through a fusion of exercises combining the Bender Ball with Gliding Disks and Tubing. Strengthening the body from the inside out, this class will give you a complete core training program. The exercises are designed to train strength, balance and flexibility for any fitness level to give your clients the results they want!
10:30 – 11:45 PM BODYWORKS
This high-low interval training sculpting workshop is power packed with fun and high energy. Combining traditional aerobics and sport specific moves using Gliding Disks, Tubing and other equipment mimicking functional movements. You will improve your cardio vascular performance and will leave feeling taller and more in balance. Modifications will be shown for all levels.
11:45 – 12:30 PM LUNCH
12:30 – 2:00 PM SIT FIT
Sit Fit is designed for the young at heart and those with some movement constraints. Using the chair as a prop to aid with balance exercises and stretching , this fun exercise program will have your clients burning calories and toning muscle while keeping their hearts strong. You will use common tools such as Bender Balls, Gliding Disks and Tubing and will learn specific exercise sequences to improve your clients’ strength, mobility, balance and stamina. You will walk away with a program you can start incorporating right away! No impact – anyone can do it!
2:15 – 3:45 PM STRETCH AND RELEASE
Create flow and focus to your stretching repertoire taking some yoga inspired philosophies and incorporating them with the bender ball. You will learn the theory behind stretches that may or may not be familiar to you and enhance them with the Bender Method ™ philosophy. Find out how to optimize posture and create more balance with your clients by incorporating these simple yet effective stretching techniques.
