“Carlo Bocchi” grammar school, founded in 1841, today has four different courses:
1. classical studies;2. modern languages; 3. sociology, psychology and pedagogics;4. social science.

It is situated in Adria at 4 via Dante Alighieri and has a large catchment area
covering middle and upper Polesine and the neighbouring provinces of Ferrara, Venice and Padua.

IT AIMS TO DEVELOP1. the acquisition of:
- basic knowledge (for higher education and employment) - specialist knowledge (of classical culture, modern
languages, sociology and anthropology, psychology and pedagogics)
2. the ability to change by:- widening its students’ skills
- making them able to perform conscious choices5
IT IS FOR- Those who want to understand our
times with a knowledge of our historic roots.
DISTINCTIVE FEATURE- The care it takes to develop the
person as a whole, while respecting individual differences.

TEACHING GOALS- Development of basic logical abilities,

“C. Bocchi” grammar school is a DEURE pole school, a European Schoolnet centre, a ECDL (European
Computer Driving Licence) centre, a pole school for the teaching of history, the provincial leader for the Quality Project, District 59 coordinating school for Health Education and coordinator of the network
project “Choosing a school in the Delta”.
The following projects are open to all students: film workshop, classical drama workshop, intercultural
education, Mateatro (mathematics and drama) workshop, “Pentabocchigramma” music workshop,
reading and writing workshop.

The school, especially the language course, has been involved in many language
projects, such as:- Exchanges with European countries
(Germany, France, Netherlands).- Mail correspondence with European
students.- “People to people” project, consisting in
hosting an American pal.- CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning), the teaching of a subject into a
foreing language for a time frame, ie. Geography in French, Philosophy in English.

The school also provides remedial courses,
individual remedial work, work experience,
pastoral care (CIC), career guidance and school trips.
