Online courses
... are web based learning materials, need Learning Management System,
and (LMS)Learning Content Management
System (LCMS)
... are used for offering materials anytime, anywhere and at any place

Conceptual Framework of an Educational Counseling System
The Student Online Counseling Kernel System (SOCKS)
designed as a Web-based system with LMS and Four Basic Processes:
Monitoring Process -individual students’ learning behavior,
i.e. time spent on learning units,
Prediction Process for the student’s learning outcome
Resulting Counseling process Evaluation of the counseling process.
Automatic Computer Assisted Counseling
... Uses the individual learning behaviour Time spent in learning units Time spent for studying multimedia sources Time needed in quizzes and tests
... Uses learning results Results from quizzes related to learning
behaviour Results from mid term test

Design and Implementation: SOCKS
2 main parts of SOCKS ImplementationStudent PartTeacher Part
Student Interface
Change Password: changing student passwords - every three months, Login Statistics: checking attendance of students in the course, Student Statistics: checking student behavior of learning course Suggestion-Feedback: giving feedback and suggestions to students or identifying what to consult or suggest and how, Assessment Result: assessing how much the student knows and how well and to decide where and how much help is needed, Logout from the system.
Login Static Model
IP refers to the regular seat/computer that students must use for learning.
ATT is for marking attendance,
ST and FT are starting and finishing times of learning
TOTAL is for keeping the overall mark of attendance. The marks of attendance are based on time constrain, 1 means you log in and learn within the time limit (10:00 to 11:50) 0.5 means students are less than 30 minutes late (10:20) 0 means students are more than 30 minutes late (10:35) or absent.
Assessment Result Module
To evaluate how well a student has done To help students drawing conclusions for the
learning improvement and purpose using appropriate response parameters as follows:
Very well no action Well whenever get a chance, review related
concepts Not so well give exercises Not well review concepts, exercises Not at all teach Forgotten review, no exercise
Teachers Interface: teachers and the administrators
Change Password: changing teacher passwords -every three months, Student List: checking the number of students attending the course , Student Short Information: checking necessary student information, Inbox-Feedback List: getting feedback and suggestions from students, Assessment Result: assessing how much the student knows (and how well)
and to decide where and how much help is needed, Message to Student: creating and sending messages to students, Student Statistics: checking student behavior of learning course, Logout from the system. Add Subjects, Add Chapters and Add Exam are also on this page.
Examples of Student Statistics:
Checking student behavior of learning in the course time spent on TST-TSG, TSV, TSO, and quizzes for each chapter. recognizes the lessons and chapters that a student has already studied during the course.
shows times that students spent and post-test after learning in each lesson. The threshold is up to check a minimum of time that student should spend in each chapter
The minimum of time is computed by the average of times that all students spend in each chapter.
If the student spend less time than the threshold and the marks of quizzes are less than standard then the students are advised to revise each lesson at the end of lesson otherwise they will not allow to take mid-term examination.
Conclusion
We have presented the modules and some results of a design research on SOCKS
Counseling based on learning behaviour and of learning outcome
Assistance for e-learning courses tests have been carried out during an e-learning course on
Software Engineering with 120 participants.

Future Work
Enable a social network of learning into SOCKS, in which peers and instructors work together
Improvement on Quiz and Tests should be classified into type of examination
analysis, memorizing, understanding, or mixed between them to develop the system to keep all data of tests,
e.g. which answers of multiple choices that students chose the most or
which questions most students answered correctly.
Grade predictions based on attendance, post test, quiz, and mid-term test have to be implemented.
