“Manic”

The Manic Clothing Line is inspired by unique minds of those affected by psychological conditions. Admittedly, it does play on the stereotypically negative image of patients in mental hospitals, but these patients are not all monsters. They are colorful minds bound by pain, restraint, and misfor-tune. This clothing line seeks to utilize that image, as well as the image of the doctors and nurses, in a stylized way.
As the designs mimic the uniforms, so should the materials. The turtleneck and shorts should be made of a wear-able canvas or duck cloth like mate-rial. The long sleeved shirt and the sleeves of the belted shirt are a thin elastic. The rest should be made of a material similar to that used in modern hospital scrubs, kept thin and light for Summer wear. The quick re-lease buckles and their straps should be made of canvas or nylon webbing and plastic or metal.

About the Line
The intended character is a young female in her twenties. This young woman is an eccentric and creative deviant with the audaci-ty to wear equally eccentric clothing in public; she dares to be herself. She would likely also have an appreciation for the flexibility of the human mind. She is energetic, rather than depressed. She is introverted but functioning, and has few friends. She likes vintage items. Perhaps she’d rather be elsewhere, in another world.
