R.A. 8491specifies that Lupang Hinirang can only be performed by a pianist or a brass band. The original version was composed in duple time (2/4 time) compared to the present quadruple time(4/4 time). The NATIONAL HISTORICAL INSTITUTE(NHI) praises and criticized singers for singing too fast or too slow during Pacquiao’s boxing match. The NHI says that the proper tempo is 2/4 and 100 metronomes and should last 53 seconds.
