THE BEST SUMMER EVER!
SUMMER
The Y in Central Maryland • It’s deeper here.®
DISCOVER SUMMER At the Y, summer is our favorite time of year! It’s a time to laugh, play, discover, create and make memories that will last a lifetime. No matter your preference—indoor camps, outdoor camps, overnight camps, sports camps and more— the Y offers a summer experience that will leave everyone with a grin on their face!
FUN WITH A PURPOSE It’s been proven that children who engage in summer camp experiences are appropriately challenged during the summer months and exposed to learning opportunities that keep their minds sharp while having fun. Y Camp is one of the best ways to combat summer learning loss to help keep children on track in school and beyond.

Pre-Camp Extended Hours (7am – 9am; no additional cost!)
“After Dad signed me in at the parent table, I made friendship bracelets with Miss Alex and we shared our
favorite knock-knock jokes with the
group. When more campers arrived, we played a game of kickball.”
Morning Activities (9am – 12pm)
“It’s time for Opening Rally! That’s when we stretch, listen to announcements, sing camp songs and do the Y Camp Cheer. It’s an energizing way to start our day and our counselors are super silly!” Today my group went for a nature hike in the woods. We talked about how we can be good friends to nature and played “I Spy” to learn about different kinds of plants!
At Creation Station, we made sock puppets. My friends and I acted out a sock puppet skit for our counselors. They were laughing so hard!
Whoo-hoo! Today is one of my SWIM DAYS!”
Lunch (12pm – 1pm)
“Mom packed me a delicious sandwich for lunch, and the juice box she stuck in the freezer last night was just like a slushy!”
Afternoon Activities (1pm – 4pm)
“During Fit N Fun, we raced each other through an obstacle course and Miss Stephanie taught us about healthy snacks that taste great and help keep our bodies strong. A little later we rested under a big shady tree to do some reading and journaling. The camp library has some awesome books!
In Snazzy Science, we learned about rocket ships and we even got to make our own balloon rockets!
Time flies when you’re having fun! At the Closing Rally, my group won the Spirit Stick and my friend won Camper of the Day!”

We voluntarily go through rigorous inspections by outside professionals to ensure we continue to exceed state regulations in health, safety, programming, staff qualifications/ training, emergency management plans and more—up to 300 standards in all!
Y Camp staff candidates undergo a thorough review process including “Camp Try-Outs” (a half day of actual activities and scenarios), reference and background checks, and several interviews. Before working with campers, staff will complete a minimum of 30 hours of training that is specific to their role, including first aid, CPR and activity leadership.
